Cows, kids and county supervisors
We ran a story about the air pollution issues surrounding 4th District supervisor candidate Cliff Thompson's campaign billboards on Sunday. See it here. Thompson calls dairies a "No. 1" polluter. The air district said cows are the biggest producer of VOCs but automobiles and trucks are still the No. 1 polluter in the San Joaquin Valley. And Watson has voted against a dairy ban — as Thompson claims — but did voted to do a mega-environmental study looking into the cumulative impact of all dairies proposed for Kern County. That study has paused all dairy projects for around four years. What do people think about the dairy stink in the race?

Well, it sure is a good thing buffalo herds were reduced from millions to near extinction. We'd really be in a fix if that didn't happen. Goes to show nature can't be trusted to do its job. How come Al Gore The Movie didn't indict cows as a major cause for global warming? posted by

I could care less about cows impact on the environment. I love beef and I love milk. If I can't stand the smell I'll move away. But I will keep eating beef and drinking milk. I'd rather see our candidates talking about other issues. Gang violence, education, illegal immigration, roads, water, etc. That would be nice. I'd also like to see the media report on those things when the candidates do talk about them.
