I'm ready for election night.
I spent the day drinking coffee and watching the national news spews. As the day went on I got more and more excited about the close national races and the battle for control of the House and the Senate. No matter your political bent — this election is a political junkie's Super Bowl celebration. All that national debate got me exited about covering the election night fun at cheek-by-jowl campaign events for Sheriff Mack Wimbish and challenger Donny Youngblood. Youngblood will party at Buck Owens Crytal Palace. Wimbish is holding court at the Best Western hotel next door. I give both of them credit for running a clean campaign. They could have made it nasty. They could have made it a high-noon blood bath of name-calling, skeleton-rattling and muck-slinging. They didn't When I talked to Youngblood this afternoon he said he's happy with the race he's run. "Looking back on the race, there’s nothing I’d do differently. Whatever the result I’ll be content. I gave 110 percent," he said. In the end it all will come down to the voters. I love election day. |
