Calling all Bears, Colts fans in Bakersfield
First off, I'm a longtime Indianapolis Colts fan. Born and raised in Anderson, Ind., which was home to the Colts training camp from 1984 through 1998. Twenty-three years of Super Bowl frustration for me and a few thousand Indianapolis Colts fans ended a few weeks back.

On the other side of the sports department, we have two Bears fans on staff: Sports columnist Andy Kehe and our part-time agate clerk Matt Majewski. Kehe is originally from Arlington Heights, Ill., a suburb of Chicago, and Majewski, well...I don't know what his deal is. While they've waited 21 years for the sequel to the Super Bowl Shuffle, I'm hoping just like Speed II or UnderSiege II...the sequel bombs.

As for the rest of the staff, their teams didn't make the playoffs or were outed on a botched field goal attempt or by the Bears vaunted defense.

Now that you know where our allegiances stand, we need to know where yours are.

So, we're having a casting call for Bears and Colts fans. I know there are a few of you out there. I saw two Bears fans and one Colts fan at the Albertson's on White Lane before the championship games.

Coming Wednesday, I'll post a few questions regarding the Super Bowl. We'd like the whole World Wide Web and the Bakersfield area to read what you have to say, so send your answers to rpriest@bakersfield.com. We'll also use the best answers in our Super Bowl preview on Feb. 4.

Long Time Bear Fan here.  I've been to Soldier's Field on blustery friggin' freezy  and windy days.  Whewww!  Damn Cold.  But that's a fan.  I went downtown when they won the Superbowl back in '86 for the ticker tape parade and homecoming.  It was -20 below, with gawd knows what wind chill factor....now that's a fan.

It would have been even better for me if The Pats had won for the re-match-up of the century.  Still, it's hopefully gonna be a good game playing the Colts.  My guess:  Bears 28, Colts 17.   WOOT  WOOF

I will be rooting for Indianapolis for the sole reason that I'd like to see Peyton Manning get the monkey off his back. Plus, I have family who lives in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

I'm with you Steve. Peyton has been so good these last few years. He deserves the ring. Plus, I'm an AFC kinda guy. Plus I like blue, plus I like how Peyton audibles at the line and looks like he's freaking out.

I hope the Bears lose because of fans like in that picture above. That's the tackiest damn thing I've ever seen. People freakin died in that disaster and that clown thinks it's funny. That and the fact that we're forced to hear the Super Bowl shuffle again. Just tell me they aren't making another one. I don't think I can take it.

It was sent to me from one of my college buddies. I don't know where he got it, but he assures me it's from a reliable source.
