A friend in Need

I NEED HELP! Seriously I need to help a friend in bakersfield. I don't live there. I live in la. I need to know some info about some services in the city because I know nothing. So plz can anyone help me out. this friend is hearing voices amoung other things. I was wondering if there is a place this person can go to get help. This persons family is telling them to ignore it and their to young to do anything but they are on the verge of going insane. Are there services, doctors they can see??? If you know anything about this stuff, please, I ask you to lend a hand. I'm searching many sites to recieve help and any info is welcomed. I just don't know where to turn to and I'm worried about this persons health and life. Thanx all.

The Mary Schell mental health clinic is in the same parking lot as Kern Medical Center on Mt. Vernon. They will help regardless of ability to pay. Your friend can literally walk in and tell them he/she really needs help and they will do what they can. Tell your friend NOT to ignore these symptoms!!! Early help is essential for healing.

Yes.  Your friend can walk into the Mary K Shell buiding at 2151 college ave or he/she can call them at 868-8080.  It's across the parking lot from Kern Medical Center.  They will evaluate your friend and determine a need for hospitalization and then make the appropriate referrals. Good Samaritan on white lane is another of these facilities that your friend can contact for help as well.  They are located at 5200 White Lane, or 398-1800.  I hope everything works out for your friend.

You can also have your friend dial 211 if they're not sure who to call.
