Another big auction
National real estate auction company Hudson & Marshall will be back in Bakersfield on June 9. The company Web site shows 47 Bakersfield homes listed for sale, along with a handful of listings in Kern communities such as Pine Mountain Club and Delano. (I wrote about a similar auction of bank-owned homes in April.) Earlier today I was talking with Bakersfield real estate Jon Vaughn for a weekend story, when the Hudson & Marshall event came up. He offered a good tip that most people probably don't know about: If you're really interested in a home being offered at auction, see if you can make an offer before the auction event, Vaughn said. The company's goal is to sell these homes as fast as possible, he said, and many will accept fair offers before the live auction. Different auctions have different rules, but you might get the chance to beat out those other bidders. -Vanessa Gregory, staff writer 1 comments from 1 users

Are there professional real estate people that can guide you through the process so that you get a good deal?
