Want to see someone who doesn't practice what he preaches? Read this article from the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. By the way, they claim to be a non partisan orginization. Here's something for the majority of you to pick apart. Since it comes from NewsMax I feel quite sure you'll discount every word before even reading it. But..post it I shall because like my heading says..it interests ME. My favorite part (for amusement) is this: "If there is any doubt that God has a sense of humor, it has to be dispelled by a headline in Wednesday's Drudge Report: "House hearing on 'warming of the planet' canceled after ice storm."" You can read the entire story here at the dreaded NewsMax website. http://www.newsmax.com/arch... While researching a piece that was sent to me in email, I ran across some interesting links to other sites. Granted these are very conservative sites but it would be nice if people would check them out and see if there isn't a common ground for all of us underneath the partisan differences. I hate to be a pessimist but the reality on this blog is that these people will be damned as right wingnuts by most of the readers here when they actually are people with opinions and a lot of facts. We, on the right, are constantly told to keep an open mind and that's all I'm asking here. One other thing..I'm not going to sit here all morning and check figures to see if they match your figures or say my sources are better than your sources. I agree with most of the premise and that's what I'm presenting. Below is an excerpt from one of the sites.
"Protesting war assumes there are those who support war and oppose peace. Those who believe that there are soldiers who want war reveal the utter depth of their ignorance. No one, anywhere, hates war more than the soldier. No one, anywhere, shoulders more of the burden for the horrors of war than the soldier. The anti-war musician and the soldier share a longing for peace, but at vastly different levels of maturity; the lyricist with the whiny petulance of a demanding toddler, the warrior with the sorrow-filled determination of an eyewitness to evil..."

When I turned Glenn Beck on this evening his show was half over and I missed the full interview of a woman named Irshad Manji author of "The Trouble With Islam Today." She is a Muslim reformist and a liberal feminist. This was the second time she had been on his show. I've never even heard of her let alone heard her speak but her intervielw tonight was really interesting so I went to her website to learn more about this movement of hers and there was a link to her first interview with Glenn Beck. Give it a listen... Soooo..it's ok to go to a sports bar and get sloshed to watch the super bowl (lower case intended) but you can't go to your church and watch it there. How American of the NFL. One TV under 55 inches only please. Unless you're a sports bar. Then it's open season so to speak. I'll be at a friends house today and I sure hope they don't have a TV over 55 inches or someone will surely report them to the NFL police. |
