I really love a journey; see the world and other states,

To travel every year, it's what I contemplate,

Whenever opportunity arises for vacation

Heading for the airport gives me reason for elation.

I went your way, to visit, further down in ol' LA,

Amazing in a rental car that I could find my way,

That PCH is busy, but the coastline's quite the view,

I wanted to extend my stay, but had a job to do.

Like everyone who has to work, vacation days were done,

And so were hours that I spent just basking in the sun.

So while I loved your lovely state and wish to go again

It's what's within my wallet which will tell me if I can.

At any rate, I hope to.

It's cold here in New England where we're tucked close to the sea,

As long as I remember, every year, that's said to me,

"It's going to sleet". "It's going to snow!", "It's going to pelt and hail!",

They listen to the weather, then they pray predictions fail.

I find it most amusing that there's those who sound surprised,

To see snow falling lightly from the briskly wintered skies.

"How long have you lived here in our fair New Hampshire state?",

My thought is to assure them that the flurries will abate.

I'm sure in fact, they've never been within the "Granite's" cold,

And that the speaker didn't know the weather'd be so bold.

So I prepare to help them, to tell them how to dress,

To make the weather's icy winds decrease to cool caress.

And then it's my turn for surprise, when next they turn to say.

"I've always lived here and I hope that it won't snow today."

"It's January, silly, what did you think it'd be?

A different sort of weather to be felt by you or me?"

If you insist on fairer skies, keep saying every day,

You hope the local weather won't bring freezing temps our way.

The good news though, is, if you wait. it all will go away,

So I can brace myself to hear, "Oh Lord, it's hot today!"
