Supremes drop one suit against Obama but ...

... a similar one has been taken up for consideration Friday. Well, Randomfactor, I guess the laughter from the Supremes over the first one died down quickly enough for them to take on another one just for laughs, huh? Looks like the fat lady can keep applying her lipstick now that the Supremes for some reason decided to prolong the matter: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph...

Could the fact that some apparent chicanery from Obama's fellow British subject President Chester Authur have any bearing on the Supremes' decision to give this another look-see, just to ascertain there is nothing unbecoming about Obama's steadfast refusal to disclose his original birth certificate? Leave it to Donofrio, whose lawsuit was denied a full-court hearing today, to provide the blow-by-blow account: http://naturalborncitizen.w...

Never underestimate the former lawyer turned pro poker player Donofrio. He just may have that ace up his sleeve.

Ya' know, as much as I'd dearly love to see this Obama ineligibility thing come home to roost, I know that it doesn't matter where he was born. His Mother was and American citizen. That's all it takes for him to be an American citizen too.

I don't know why he's making such a big deal about releasing his Birth Certificate knowing this, unless it's a case of  "Who My Baby Daddy?". Even if it were, hasn't he outgrown all of that? Grown-ups realize that a child has no control over who their parents are, or if they're married or not. Once they become adults, it's up to them to make they're own reputation in life.

'who my baby daddy?' is a racist comment. that's really sad, tonyh that you think it belongs in a serious discussion.

1) The State of Hawaii and several other independent, reliable, respected sources have authenticated the birth certificate that is on file in Hawaii.

2) The copy that Obama's people have has been released already - that's the one that has been photographed and spread around the world, including the pages of bakersfield.com

3) if you don't accept the jpg of the birth certificate, the original is being withheld by the state of hawaii as a matter of policy. Obama has given whatever he can. If you want more, convince the Hawaiian government to change its policy on releasing originals. (Not likely, they kind of need those...)

You're just itchin for a fight on here, aren't you?

Before you start [edit.] at me, why don't you read what I actually wrote? You're a real piece of work...........

In case you have trouble with herd words, let me boil it down for you.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE HE WAS BORN. HE'S AMERICAN BECAUSE HIS MOTHER WAS. HE CAN BE PRESIDENT.

There, can you understand that?

My Uncle married a British citizen... who has been living in this country since the early 60s and is still a British citizen... they were living in England in the late 60s when my cousin was born... she is a UK citizen as well as a US citizen because her father was a US citizen... I also know a couple who was living in Frankfurt Germany (military)... they had two sons while they were there... both are US citizens... so tonyh... is correct... his mother being a US citizen means... he could have been born on Mars... and he would still be a US citizen.

gsisola ,

Thanks for the chime in on this. I don't care much for folks like Dirtyshirt who can't read, but want to just stir the crap. I'm not an Obama fan at all, but I think they need to get off of his back about this issue. I think there'll be plenty of stuff to wear him out about in the near future.

Also, he said CHANGE, he didn't say, nor did anyone think to ask him if he ment CHANGE BACK to the Clinton era. It's looking like that's what he actually did mean.

tonyh: I understand your position entirely, thanks. If you haven't read my posts before, I urge you to do so. My style is to try and keep the discussion on a higher level. I'm human, of course, so maybe my efforts are uneven.

I'll tell you what, though. I usually type once and edit once just to make sure my posts make sense and I didn't do any typos. I didn't this time - family duties called me away. So. My apologies that I didn't go back and edit the post.

Everything after the sentence with your name on it is directed at the author of the blog, ppopgun.

I wasn't answering you about the mother-is-an-American theory because the conspiracy theorists think that doesn't count in this case.

posted by Ppopgun on Dec 8, 2008 at 10:58 PM

Dirtyshirt, you're right that the "conspiracy theorists," also known as those who think the Constitution is more than an old piece of paper, don't think the mother-is-an-American theory doesn't count, especially not if the father is a British subject whose children also are British subjects according to British law. That, my dear Holmes, makes it elementary that Obama holds dual citizenships, which by law would deny him the natural-born status that is required for the presidency.

By the way, what do we have here? Obama's own Cabinet minister, Bill Richardson, in reaching out to fellow Hispanics, refers to Obama as an "immigrant." Whoooopsie ... a Freudian slip perhaps? Hear it for yourself on YouTube: http://www.wnd.com/index.ph...

Furthermore, would Randomfactor care to enlighten us on why an associate lawyer would write a law review article in which she ripped the "natural born status" requirement as "the stupidest provision" and "undecidedly unAmerican" and called for it to be scrapped back in 1996? Could her motive have anything to do with the fact that a partner of the law firm she worked for served on the finance committee for Obama when he was a state senator in Illinois? Do read on: http://lawreview.kentlaw.ed...

World Net Daily tried to find out just that. It called that lawyer's number and was answered by a woman saying "Sarah Herlihy." But when told who was calling, she abruptly replied that Herlihy would call back. She never did. Perhaps the mainstream media would like to give it a shot? Who couldn't resist uncovering the story of the century and exposing Obama as perhaps the shiftiest con man in history?

Wow, my spam code is NYOBO. Seriously. Sounds a lot like NOBAMA!

Here's what's so funny about the lawsuits and what the rightwingers are either ignorant of or are ignoring: The lawsuits are also claiming McSame is ineligible to take office for the same reason they are claiming Obama is ineligible.

The only  reason Donofrio's Wells lawsuit got consideration is because Thomas did an end around and personally placed it on the docket.

And the only reason the New Jersey lawsuit is being heard is because he is using a different argument.  A convoluted argument that any first year law student could drill holes through.

This one too will get summarily thrown out.

posted by randomfactor on Dec 9, 2008 at 07:37 AM

The "dual citizenship" scam is bogus.  Period.  The "second suit" you mention is the Berg idiocy, which has even less chance than Donofrio did.

.

Furthermore, would Randomfactor care to enlighten us on why an associate lawyer would write a law review article in which she ripped the "natural born status" requirement as "the stupidest provision" and "undecidedly unAmerican"

Sure.  She probably likes the Gropenfuhrer, who cannot become president under that provision.   Look, the Shrub Administration has a long history of illegal acts in furtherance of political goals.  Like when they leaked that crap about Obama's aunt or cousin or whatever she was.  You think they'd have sat on a noncitizenship issue?  Honestly?

But please do keep focused on this while the grownups are working to fix the Republican-caused mess.  Things go smoother when the kiddies are distracted.  As for why WorldNutDaily didn't get a call back, I imagine Mad Magazine would get the same reaction.

Well, actually he followed established procedure.  He's apparently just the most gullible on the court.

Just to change this up a bit....Wasn't McCain born in Panama?

posted by dougglendower on Dec 9, 2008 at 07:44 AM

"Dual citizenship" and "natural-born citizenship" are not mutually exclusive. He, by your argument is a "natural-born" citizen of both Britain and the U.S. My uncle, on the other hand, took German citizenship after his retirement, making him a "natural born" United States citizen with Dual citizenship with Germany, where he is an immigrant.

The only requirement for "natural-born" citizenship is to have ONE parent who is an American citizen, who has never given up their citizenship. You find evidence that Obama or his mom ever renounced their American citizenship, maybe it'll hold water. Me, I'm not holding my breath.

If you were on the Supreme Court wouldn't *YOU* like a laugh or two to liven up your Friday mornings?

P Popgun

Since you have the guts to post this garbage,  I hope you have the guts to post the admission that you're wrong when it's thrown out of court.  TonyH is right.  Even if it were proved, it wouldn't matter where he was born.  He would be granted citizenship due to his mother's citizenship.

Wow.  Then he could apply for a dual citizenship.   And maybe become  president of two countries at once.  Snork.

The news this morning said that Obama has a 50% HIGHER approval rating that the man he's replacing.  So I guess lots of people like him and probably wouldn't care if he were a space alien.

Your side stole an election in 2000.  I'm beginning to think this accusation is a problem of transference.  I'm also beginning to think it's the only way a Republican can get elected?

Yes indeed.   To a mother who was a United States citizen, of course.

Ithmussy, Ithussian, Itmussist, Itmussese,

Clinton's era aka The good ole days.  Bring it on.

I want Monica's dress to be front page news again.  Instead of stories about 250,000 laid off auto workers.

And a Merry Ithmus to everyone...

posted by CatherineBaker on Dec 9, 2008 at 09:56 AM

Ahhh--the good old days of Monica's dress.  I can't believe that was a big story now, after all the misery of the last few years with the war and the bad economy.  We were so innocent then, and we must have been bored with our own contentedness to worry about stuff like that.  To be honest, I can't even remember what the big stories were back then, they must have been so mundane.  I'll take a stab, though, at:

1. Israel and Palestine fighting

2.  Bipartisan bickering in Washington

3. A hurricane, tornado, earthquake or flood somewhere.

*Some things are eternal.  : )

actually he followed established procedure

He overruled a decision by the lawyers who review the cases for the court and put it on the docket. Otherwise it would have never seen the light of day.

Also, he said CHANGE, he didn't say, nor did anyone think to ask him if he ment CHANGE BACK to the Clinton era. It's looking like that's what he actually did mean.

Apparently it's the change Americans want because 79% of Americans approve of Obama's choices.

WOW, I can't believe that you actually are posting this crap. Is this a satire blog? Also what amount of evidence would appease you ppopgun? He has already shown the pics of his birth certificate, government officials have already declared the document real. What is it you want? to have Mr. Obama himself give you his own personal copy? I'm sure with all your extensive document inspection experience would be able to make better use than the government officials. So let me restate, what amount of evidence would change your mind?

Audrey and Co., all I want for Christmas is Obama's long-form birth certificate that he has spent upwards of $800,000 to have three law firms keep under wraps rather than spending a paltry $12.50 to the Hawiian agency to have it released to anyone to make all this fuss go away. I'm particularly interested in Box 7c that states "County or State or Foreign Country." (see http://snarkybytes.com/wp-c...

And, Audrey, you'd be tickled to know that having Obama do this would -- as stated by Douglas Hagmann, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network, in his article at this link: http://www.homelandsecurity... -- "go a long way to brand (those who have filed lawsuits against Obama) and their supporters as deluded conspiracy theorists who have way too much time on their hands."

So what is Obama waiting for? Hmmm? I stand by ready and willing to apologize for besmirching his character if only he could prove to us without a shadow of doubt that he can constitutionally serve as president.
