Yep, WF, I particularly liked how the lawmakers decided that we can now answer the question of when life begins that the justices said must be answered before Roe v. Wade can be challenged. One only needs to turn to the scientists, with the vast majority of them saying life begins at conception and deeming anyone who thinks otherwise, like Pelosi, as kooks. posted by

Way, The Bill still has to go to the N.D. Senate. It still has to get the Governor signature. And it still has to meet the courts approval. This type of bill has always been overturned by the courts. S. Dakota the most recent. All court decisions have said that the health of the mother must be considered in anti abortion bills. This does not. So it does not meet the threshold of Roe V. Wade. In the first place. I am intimately aware of the state of N. Dakota. It isn't as conservative as some might think. It in fact leads the nation in political corruption. Who would have thought. I don't think it will pass the smell test with the public. But eh it also leads the nation in longevity. Maybe the old farts will get it through the senate. I wouldn't bet my stimulus check on it. Too bad we can't stop wasting resources on a impossible cause. And try to improve on reality. State lines will never prevent abortions. Education, compassion, a living wage, more resources directed at maintaining family unity, are all things that will help. Bills like the one you posted only serve to create a rift between people of different mindsets.

Well, here's a bit: The bill declares that "any organism with the genome of homo sapiens" is a person protected by rights granted by the North Dakota Constitution and state laws. (http://www.foxnews.com/poli... So now we get to argue over the definition of "organism". Wonderful. posted by

Thanks for the link Montfred. Lots of possibilities with that law including the ramifications for citizenship. I'd also like to see how this impacts fertility clinics. posted by

Stem cell research, too. Labs which grow replacement skin from foreskins. Molar pregnancies. Ectopic pregnancies.
