What do you make of this?

Bakersfield police arrested a 6th grade teacher at Walter Stiern Middle School Thursday morning on suspicion of battery after being accused of pulling a girl's head backwards by pulling her hair.

You can get more details here.

We called several school district administrators and they all generally said physical contact is prohibited in disciplining a student. Teachers could, though, touch a student to break up a fight, the Kern High School District said.

What do you think: Should any physical discipline be allowed? How about in this case?
