Resolution for 2008: Watch Less TV
Reflecting on 2007, I was living in autopilot. I need to mix things up a bit. One of my problems is that I'm a bit of a couch potato at night. I get lazy and then don't do the things I would rather do- like read or paint.... or what I SHOULD do- like clean and exercise. So, my resolution for 2008, is to watch less TV. The writer's strike has gotten me to watch less, but I need to keep the momentum going. I thought about cutting off my digital cable subscription, but I don't think I can go cold turkey like that. I usually watch KGET, TLC, PBS, CNN, and Bravo. I do end up watching a lot of mind-numbing crap too.So, what about you? What do you end up watching? Are you a couch potato too? Did you know that you can review the local TV stations on the Inside Guide? What do you think of our local tv newcasts? Be sure to rate them! 2 comments from 2 users

Definintely not hooked on tv ... but I do watch some hgtv, tlc and enjoy the reruns of csi & law&order. It would be great to see families following in your footsteps and resolving to turn the tv off. We might even get to know more neighbors if we limited our time watching tv. Now that I think of it, lots of parents might even get to know their kids & enjoy their company!..it would be a domino effect, kids would actually be out playing, the obesity problem of these kids would become obsolete, families would get to know each other and build a trusting relationship up & down the streets so if your kiddo is doing anything wrong, you know what they're telling you is out of concern, the list could just go on & on ... for the most part, it would be such a positive lifestyle change. Lets turn our streets into neighborhoods again...a place where we all watch out for each other. I'm 47 and still go out to play daily. I still would rather play then watch tv. As far as our newscasters...the only one I just love to watch is Aaron Perlman (weatherman) but I don't always catch him...as I'd rather talk to my sweetie before he heads off to work. posted by
