Prominent doctor arrested in drug investigation
Prominent physician Dr. Jeff Freesemann and his wife were among several people arrested after a nearly year-long drug investigation by Bakersfield Police. He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, possession of drugs for sale and transportation of drugs. (Read "Prominent doctor, six other arrested after long drug investigation" on Bakersfield.com and in tomorrow's Californian.) Freesemann, an internal medicine physician, is chief of staff at San Joaquin Community Hospital, co-owner of the Highgrove Medical Clinic and former president of the Kern County Medical Society. I've talked to him for several stories and am shocked about this news. He has a clean record with the state medical board. Have you ever been treated by him? Do you know him?

I don't know him although I have seen him quite a few times throughout the years at various events at the elementary school his son attends because my daughter is in the same grade. I see his wife at least 3-4 days a week taking her son to and from school and at various other times during school activities. From what I knew of Shelly, I really liked her. She is very involved at school is very athletic (I always admired her very fit body). So yes, this news is totally shocking to me as I am sure it is to others around them. posted by

Recent statement from San Joaquin Community Hospital: San Joaquin Community Hospital is saddened by the arrest of Dr. Jeffrey Freesemann. Dr. Feesemann has been on staff at San Joaquin since 1996 as an internist. posted by

Doctors always have the best drugs. LOL Smart people can be really stupid sometimes. Stupid people are stupid 24/7. The more you do hard core drugs, the dumber you get. We should be glad he was caught and didn't make a serious medical misjudgement. He obviously has already made serious life misjudgements. posted by

teacher, I don't know the facts of this particular case, but here is my guess. "Stevie" Galvan is a twice convicted drug dealer here in Bakersfield. I know this first hand, and you can confirm it on the KC court website. I bet he was being investigated for dealing again, and the Dr. and his wife went and bought some drugs from Galvan, who was their connection. After they did so, they were stopped, and the drugs were located, which lead to their arrest. But we'll have to wait and see. posted by

I think people ought to keep there thoughts and rude comments to themselves unless they are aware of ALL the facts.... Because California is a POLICE state, your guilty until you have proven your innocence, the 4th and 5th Amendment are routinely disregarded or completely tossed out the window.. What ever happened to the land of the FREE?
