Tiffanilynn - > Kids and Cars -> IrAq.
IrAq.

Well.... My best  friend left for Iraq 3 weeks ago... although I am very proud of him and all that he has done, it breaks my heart, his wife is due with their first baby (little girl) in Feb and he wont be here to experience it, he will miss all Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, but that's just part of the job title.

He is a marine.. and he is serving our country. We all worry sick about him, and pray for him to return safely. Its hard to not think of the worst seems how we have already lost a friend there (RIP Clay Farr).

I'm opening this post to talk to others that have or have had family/friends/co-workers etc that have been in Iraq for this war, and what they have learned from the experience. Please do not leave comments on this if you are going to down talk our soldier's, I will delete your comment as soon as i see it if you do.

Id really like to get some insight on this since i don't know much about it... and hear from others that have gone through this... thank you everyone.

hay tiff where you been?? as you know my boy went through the same thing with his wife and baby except she was born two weeks before he left so he got to hold her just enough to miss her his whole tour..

being young newly weds his wife and him went through alot of turmoil being seperated that way and when he got home she had divorce papers waiting..he loved her and wanted to work it out since it was just a case of his stress of being gone and her being around her friends that wanted her to party here,,He finally came home from base a few times and won her back..

he just got moved from Kansa to fort irwin here in Calfornia..they are living there as we speak looking forward to a long and properous future..hopefully things will settle and he wont have to go back over again..my fear is it will be Afghanistan this time..he did sign up for another 4 years so we arent sure whats going to happen now. Like you.... we are living one day at a time..only this year we are looking forward to having everyone home for the holidays..

Yahoo messenger is a cool tool  ..sure beats snail mail  ..use it Tiff..it really helps both sides to make it through tuff times..his first kill didnt go down so great and was pretty tuff on him .. he wouldnt tell me the details but I know him so I know he was upset..I got to talk him through it as best I could. or atleast shared some of his feelings he was going through...technology keeps you alot closer  than it used too

tell him to work nights if he can so he will be up working and hopefully will have access to a computer...it helps keep the time zone factors easier for communication...anyway thats how we did it..Good luck kid..after the half way point it goes alot faster time wise

At least the war will be over soon. And hopefully people will learn enough from this one not to blindly support the next one. Then again, didn't work with vietnam so....  who knows. Maybe in 20 years we will be sending masses of young people over to kill and be killed for yet another lie. But at least with Barack we might not end up in Iran and might buy ourselves some time.

I'll be keeping you and your friend in my thoughts.

When my "nephew" ( not really related but I have known and loved him from the age of 5) was over there everyday was a stress, but I tried to stay positive and he came home fine.  He refuses to talk about anything he saw or did there~ that worries me,but I just keep telling him I am here for you. When he came home he had lost his wife and then proceeded to wreck a motorcycle and ruin his arm~ goes to show you one never knows. He is a recruiter now, Marines, and doing better.
