It's About Time !
According to the 2008 crime stats recently released by the FBI, there's a drug possession arrest in the United States every eight seconds. About fifty percent of those arrests are carried out for simple possession of marijuana. It's about time we're finally seeing a change in the way we deal with the issue of substance abuse in our communities. And allowing States to decide for themselves the direction of law enforcement policy is a positive step in the right direction. Regarding marijuana decriminalization, it has been found by a Harvard University Study, that legalizing the stuff will inject an estimated $77 billion into the U.S Economy. That's just one benefit, among many, to legalizing Marijuana. Happy Monday ! --virgil

Virgil have you seen the film American Drug War? It's a really good film. You can watch it on youtube in it's entirety: www.youtube.com/watch The guy who made American Drug War (Kevin Booth) has another film coming out. It's called How Weed Won The West.
By the way...Alex Jones (infowars.com) was in American Drug War (extras on the DVD) & consulted on the film. It looks like he will have a main role in How Weed Won The West. Alex Jones & Kevin Booth are good friends. Hey I even own an American Drug War T-Shirt....gotta support Kevin Booth. He is a great guy & Mr. Booth is doing an excellent job exposing the phony war on drugs. www.sacredcowstore.com/ ------------------------------------------- www.sacredcowstore.com/how-weed-won-the-west.html
From the creators of American Drug War the long awaited sequel -How Weed Won the West- Starring Alex Jones, Ethan Nadlemann, Craig X Rubin, Doug Stanhope, Jeff Joseph, Theresa Blaylock, Don Duncan, Bill Kroger, and more.. http://www.facebook.com/pag... posted by

I hope the governments don't jump on the tax the hell out of it bandwagon. If the prices stay where they are it will keep those that need it going to legitimate sources. Over price it and they will deal with the street vendors and keep the Mexican cartels in business. I'm obviously not an expert but the thought of hurting the thugs south of the border make me happy. Kids that like MJ are smoking now, all they want. Well trained security at out schools can and does "weed" out those that are abusing or will abuse just like they do for consuming alcohol. posted by

Legalized marijuana will take the place of the illicit marijuana trade. It's so easy to grow, most people who use the stuff will grow it themselves. In a year, the amount of surplus marijuana on the market will the drive the price down. In five years, the use of marijuana will be normal. --virgil posted by

Prop. 215, about ten years, legalized marijuana for medicinal uses. It was called the compassionate use act of 1996 and was passed by a large majority of the California electorate. --virgil posted by

Anglo, Marijuana users don't need dispensaries ( charging $400 an once ) regulated by the County and watched by the DA like flies on honey. They need to be left alone. --virgil posted by

Work in the world of mood and mind altering chemicals and addctions and get back to us. Nancy we are talking about weed not hardcore dope. (Legal & illegal) Some of the legal crap pushed by big pharma is downright horrible.
Why is marijuana a schedule one drug? Why can someone go to vons and purchase a gallon of Whiskey & crash their car? I mean you could smoke ten joints & the worst thing you might do is eat a case of Doritos. Most folks after smoking a lot of weed are to damned lazy to drive anywhere. posted by

That's why you don't here about people crashing there car from smoking weed because weed gets you too lazy and most people just don't fell like even getting up to go to the bathroom. But it can also make you possibly gain weight because some people get the munchies, and don't even know when to stop eating. I know i did when i used to smoke it a long time ago. posted by

virgil, even though you never answer a question that is asked of you, please try and answer this simple question after reading this very brief scenerio. (A simple YES or NO will do...). I have no medical reasons to smoke marijuana to relieve "pain". My doctor says I am in good health. I take no medications for any medical conditions. I live in California. Can I legally have 5 grams of marijuana in my pocket as I walk down the street? YES or NO? And if you delete this, or don't answer this simple question, you will be showing your true colors.

Animal lover, you don't really believe that do you? If they've been at a party smoking pot how likely are they to call a friend and say.."hey, I'm loaded, come and get me." It' s more like "all it is is a little pot, it's not like it's alcohol or anything." posted by
