JOHN FROM CINCINNATI - WHAT THE....
Location: PISMO BEACH93449,

Can anyone tell me what happened here.  Was John an angel, alien, ghost.  I missed a couple of episodes but I don't think they would have helped me.  I tried to post this twice before and am not sure where it went.  If anyone finds it let me know so I can delete it

My guess was that it was too obvious that John was an angel, and that the final episode would have everybody's neurosis' cured, that they would all come to the conclusion that John was heaven sent, and then the pysch techs in the white coats would come pick him up. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled so we'll have to draw our own conclusions.

It didn't do well, but I'm a sucker for the Deadwoodesque dialog. The guy who did Deadwood produced it, and it was chock fulla Deadwood alumnist. For Deadwood fans, they are talking about a Deadwood movie now.

The character Kai on the show is a real surfing champion, and Shauny is the real grandson of the family the series was modeled after. He's a big surfer too, but is better known for his skateboard skills.

Just re watching all the Deadwood series, love them! HBO was foolish to cancel that series, and hoping the movie becomes reality.

I will have to agree with antiextremism, John was an angel in the way that he resurrected Bill's bird and brought Shaunie back from his broken neck. I came to this conclusion by the way he spoke of "his Father". The show was canceled for season two but the first season did run its course. In my opinion one of the best and most intriguing series ever, loved it, I didn't miss an episode and couldn't wait until Sunday night. Kudos to HBO for its innovative shows. If you wish to talk about "John", I am one of its biggest fans, can't wait for the DVD box !........  >--o

To borrow a summation from a friend....."The Father, The Son and the Shaunie Yost"

That was the final episode of the season gsisola, but they did cancel the next season. It was not meant to be a one season show. The show just didn't come along as fast as the average tv viewer would like. HBO series are much better than network shows and are the only reason I have HBO...because after all...how many times do you want to see War of the Worlds and Troy? LOL

I did agree with you on the cancellation after deeper research, sorry but I did edit my comment. I hate that when people do this, like I just did, again sorry. Makes all of the other comments look weird.

I think in the final episode they should have tied a rope around Mitch and floated him down the street in the parade,  just like a Macy's balloon !

You are correct antiextremism.

Yeah gsisola, even though it wasn't the best HBO series, I'm kinda pissed it was cancelled just to see how it all panned out.

I guess too many people were going 'Huh", and those that did follow it probably wanted Rebecca DeMornay to get eaten by a shark with all the incessant bitchin'. LOL

I thought DeMornay was on the money as the ballbreaker from hell.  Got it gsislola,  reading glasses on now.

Boy wasn't she anglo? They must have had to slap her in the face before every scene to get her riled up.

I thought I could be sarcastic, but she was the poster child for sarcastic rage! LOL

I don't know exactly what John was, but the ending sure left me dissatisfied.  The potential for a really good series, just fizzled out.
