Impeached Demcratic Rep. Hastings out as new Intelligence Committee Chair
Maybe Pelosi will really try to clean out some of the crooked politicians and govern with some sense of ethics. This is a good start. Since they will only be choosing Dems. I wonder if they will run out of honorable candidates before they fill the posts.

I've got to agree with Anglo here. The Democrats have *GOT* to show more ethical behavior than the Republicans did. . Fortunately, that won't be hard at all... . By the way, there are serious, legitimate doubts as to the allegations made against Hastings--timeline sorts of things. That's why he was acquitted unanimously. But then I guess Anglo knew that already. And Harman would have been a bad choice for Intelligence, having swallowed so much of the kool-aid already. posted by

There are plenty of ethical people that were recently elected. Quite a few "fighting democrats" that recently served in the military in Iraq, and quite a few that may be a little more conservative than I'd like. I'm just hoping they select a commerce secretary that actually knows something about the internet. posted by

Just because Hastings was a crooked judge doesn't mean he won't be a spiffy intelligence chairman... Besides, if Sean Interruptsky Hannity has his panties all wadded up regarding Hastings, it can't be all bad. posted by
