I figure instead of blogging about things like the president, which I'm tired of hearing about, killings in Bakersfield, or Racists people, I had a good idea of blogging about something different for a change like Halloween, and what's your favorite Horror movies since Halloween is coming up and all. So please fell free to add your top 5 favorite scary movies of all time. posted by

The Omen, The Shining (the new version is much better, closer to the actual story), Underworld, Sixth Sense, and Interview with the Vampire. Not necessarily in that order.... LOL savvy... posted by

I agree "Herbie Fully Loaded" was one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. Not a huge fan of the horror film but: 1)Oldboy ( more thrillerish) 2) Invite the Right One In 3) The Birds 4) The Haunting 5) Nosferatu ( 1922 but the Willem Dafoe version was good too) and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. I cheated but both of those movies tie for classic horror films.

Classic? How about "The Wax Museum" with Vincent Price? NOT that pile of dung featuring that nobody Paris Hilton. posted by

1.Psycho - I still jump at some of the scenes today, even when I know they are coming. For me, Norman Bates was the scariest movie creep of all time. 2. Hell Raiser. In the era of overdone villains who refuse to go away, Pin Head was the scariest of the lot in my opinion. 3 Nightmare on Elm Street. The first film was really a terrifying and wild ride. Freddie ripping off a Fred Astaire dance routine on all four walls for horror sake was terrific film making with a wry sense of humor. 4. The Excorcist. The music still spooks me. 5. Beetlejuice. The movie is just so original. It isn't scary, though there are quite a few uneasy moments. I don't think of the film as a comedy either, though there is great humor throughout. This is just a great Halloween movie in that rare Harold and Maude spirit of living life or death on your own terms. I love Tim Burton films but I don't think he ever made a better one.

Halloween scared the crap out of me. The movie didn't have the over the top carnage and when Mikey rose up from the side of the bed behind Jamie Lee Curtis...that was too spooky. To me that's the best.
