Lloyd Lindsay Young the weather guy - love him or hate him?

I used to think he was annoying as the Mor Furniture ads, but I've grown used to him. What's your vote - love him or hate him?

Sorry I can't stand the man and will not watch their news simply because of him.

Love him!

I kind of like him although I liked his son better.  I watch the local new on  that station because it's the only one that fits my schedule...

Roy, I did enjoy his son. I was sad to see him go and switched channels after he left.

My wife and I used to periodically watch him in Sacramento years ago. I was surprised when we moved down here four years ago to see his son doing the weather in Bakersfield. It was equally surprising that when his son departed and Lloyd turned up in the weather chair. I actually find him really funny at this point, and truly enjoy his honest take on the air quality and horrible heat that permeates this area. Anyone really enjoy evenings when its 95 degrees at 11PM, and you're not in Las Vegas riding a winning streak? When he goes on a small rant about the consecutive number of unhealthy air days strung together he does it in a humorous way. Lloyd tells it like it is in a very unique style. He is like no other, which I find refreshing in an age of cookie cutter look-a-likes and sound-a-likes.

Hated him at first, but he's kind of like a crazy Uncle (would still rather watch Miles Muzio).   We're always thinking he's gonna call out other names, like "Back to you, Barbara and John"  instead of Jackie and Todd....he's almost seems awkwardly medicated or tipsy.  He seems to be the joke of the station, doesn't he?

Didn't his son leave for the real estate business?  Wonder how that's working out for him....

I just started watching the evening news. I met him for the first time yesterday at a Mexican restaurant on 21st Street. He was nice. I agree with Woof Woof. He's like a crazy uncle. :)

I've always liked Miles Muzio, but somehow..... if I have the TV on 23, there's........................................ LLOYD!

I've seen the changes over the many years and yes, the "crazy uncle" is appropriate and I kind of like the guy. Definitely not cookie-cutter.

I guess what I really can't stand is the part where he says "Helllllllllooooooooooooooooooooo Bakersfield." Or name your town and I won't watch him..much too irritating.    I liked his son though and enjoyed the way he would go to family barbeques and such to do the weather....anything for a laugh.   One that's like a robot is Victoria Houchin.  She's a bit stiff.  Honestly, the best of all was Rusty Shoop.  He made a great anchorman but I loved it when he did the weather too.

One younger gal is pretty good but her name escapes me at the moment.  Ya gotta have a schtick since reporting weather news isn't actually Emmy winning material...especially around here..lol.

Love him! Anyone that can do the weather with a straight face with a giant beef stick in his hand is OK in my book.

LLY's  entertaining but toooooooooo loud!   Sometimes I get uptight wandering what embarrassing thing he's going to say or do next.  LLY is the only person on TV my husband can hear without having the sound turned up to the Edward's theatre level

I won't watch Miles because of the global warming thing.  He's an idiot in my book.

I agree with you, Nancy. That HELLLOOOO thing is irritating. I do give him kudos, though, for guts. He is willing to do anything for a laugh.

I couldn't stand George "Bad News" Young, and I can't shake the psychological association that I have carried over to his father.

I suppose he can't really be held responsible, but I sure got tired of his promising great weather (the end of a heat wave or warm day in a cold spring) always four days away.

Tune in tomorrow and the next day and the next, and that promised nice weather would still be four days away.

Do weather guys still use the term "storm activity".  That used to drive me nuts.

This guy is like Robin Williams and Jim Carrey had a kid, and it turned out to be twice as unfunny as its parents.  He is like a crazy uncle -- the one who is the reason I have other plans on Thanksgiving.
