Advertising on Bakersfield.com

Did anyone else happen to catch this advertisement? At first, I snickered, then thought well, they gotta make money somehow, then I went back and it took a while to find the advertisement again.

What do you think - are you guys out there gonna get a girl from India real soon?

This advertisement can be found on the home page of bakersfield.com. At first, I thought, surely the website got hijacked somehow but when I finally found the advertisement again on bakersfield.com I realized they really posted it, or at least I assume so!

Does the ad refer to East Indian or American Indian (or Native American)? She looks awfully white to me to be either. I'm sure lonely guys who can't find a relationship here in the states will rush to marry a fair-haired, light-complexioned lady from India.

Woman they actually hook you up with.

Stock Photography - old woman in garden. fotosearch - search stock photos, pictures, images, and photo clipart

That was freaky, when I clicked on this page that photo, audrey, was bigger than life....and my own comment got eaten...

So again I'll say, I checked out the site and it's not just for brides...you can get yourself a groom too.  Women start at 18, but you can't get an 18 year old guy.  It starts at 21 for the men.  Darn.  Discrimination, I say.

Woof

I toned it down.  It took a little tweaking.

I wonder how much they'd charge to advertise my web site?

Ads like that one, including the Classmates.com ad I just saw in that spot, are what are called

remnant ads

provided by a remnant advertising

vendor

we contract with.

Just use Firefox with AdBlock Plus and never see the wierd ads again, heh.

Indian wife - with rubies, not feathers. It just seems sooooo tacky to be on our website! Like offering prostitute service!

I got an email once that said, "Lonely Russian women want to meet you."

AUUUGGHH!

I dunno.  I know someone who's got a Russian bride.  Married above his station, he did, the lucky gospodin.
