Violent Bakersfield on YouTube - What's up with our town?

ABC23 has posted its video of Condors coach Marty Raymond throwing stuff into the rink in Minor League Ice Hockey Coach Goes Ballistic In Bakersfield.

Here's a disturbing video series of a girl fight in East Bakersfield posted earlier this week. Warning: foul language and girls fighting.

PART 1
PART 2
PART 3

And apparently we have some CQB (close quarter battle) fanatics in Bakersfield posting these videos of their trainings. Warning: Guns look real.

The internet is a haven for free speech and expression. I can understand the collective shock and indignity of the abuses and liabilities of this freedom with little restriction. My teens' friend found step-by-step instructions how to make ricin at home. I have my own prejudice toward some channels of cable tv and if I had my way radio KRAB would be taken off the air.

But I also have the freedom of choice. There are tv channels I do not watch and radio stations I don't listen to. Nor am I going to download your link to watch a girl fight. Freedom of expression is countered by freedom of choice.

Bottom line, I'd rather put up with idiots on YouTube than have someone making moral choices for me. If I say something on the net that offends or is disagreeable, you're free to express yourself and change my mind or challenge my ideas.

A window into your future, Bakersfield.  And some people here think that TOO many people are getting incarcerated.

Ahh, "life as it should be"

As long as we can and do change the channels, ignore the news, close the blinds, and generally hide from and do nothing about (if anything can be done) these behaviors, we should probably learn to expect more and more of these "freedom of expressions" in public places like theatres, grocery stores, stop lights, etc.

Catpaw,

I'm just curious why you would take down Krab radio if you could?

truth: I object to deejays repeated use of stupid slang directed to women. "Whisker biscuit," "furburger," etc. convey a hostility toward the female gender. The programs are obviously targeted for an audience of losers who don't know how to relate to women and encourage the mentality. The radio hosts have gone beyond shock jock wannabes and guy talk.

Guys who feed into vulgar references toward women--like sex offenders--apply these dehumanizing references in their actions. Such language seldom stops at women; more often than not, it expands to include religions, homos, minorities, and so on.

As I pointed out in my post, I have a choice not to listen to it and voice my own views, which I hope will influence KRAB radio listeners.

These fat girls need to learn how to fight. Shouldn't they be at school?. This is the kind of crap that gets knocked up at 16, weigh 300 pounds plus by 20, and collecting welfare for the rest of there child bearing years. What purpose do people like this even have?
