bakosphere - > Bakosphere -> 5 years of war in Iraq
5 years of war in Iraq

The war in Iraq has now lasted 5 years.

We talked to the parents of Bakersfield's Clay Farr, who was killed in Iraq in 2006.

Watch a video of President Bush's words and views from the last 5 years of war.

Bush defended his decision to invade Iraq in a speech he delivered this morning.

Meanwhile, local blogger sagefever asks that the fallen soldiers aren't forgotten in her blog, Deep Thoughts.

With that in mind, here is our slideshow of Kern's brave departed.

"The war in Iraq has now lasted 5 years."

Seems a lot longer than five years to me. And in actuality, since we never really left Iraq after the Kuwait rescue operation in 1992,  America has been at war in Iraq for 16 years. Oh well, we were in Viet Nam for almost 25 years. Must be good to be a defense contractor.

It's more than five years in the other direction, too.  We've got a thirty-year plus variable-rate mortgage on the place.  And China is the banker.

I watched your slides with 5 years of tears.
