According to the California code, it is illegal to possess such an animal in California, absent a specific permit.
Summary of Law: It is unlawful for persons to possess wild animals unless the animal was in possession prior to January 1992. Wild animals include, but are not limited to the following orders: Primates; Marsupialia; Insectivora (shrews); Chiroptera (bats); Carnivora (non-domestic dog and cats); Proboscidea (elephants); Perissodactyla (zebras, horses, rhinos); Reptilia (crocodiles, cobras, coral snakes, pit vipers, snapping turtles, alligators); etc.

LOL, Michele. I know what you mean. Several of my friends have had babies recently and whew, a couple of them are not cute at all, God bless 'em. I have also seen not-so-cute babies grow up to be good looking. So you never know. This little monkey is adorable. I wonder if he would get along with Wesley. Wait,,,, I don't want two in diapers.....
