Shock! The Dining Divas give 5 stars

Bakersfield Life magazine's restaurant reviewers are as generous with their stars as the Hollywood Walk of Fame. John Stamos and Billy Dee Williams for crying out loud.

Another review. Another 5 stars across the board. This time it is Joseph's on F street, which received an average of 3.5 stars on our Inside Guide.

KC Steakhouse: DDs give it 5 stars (avg. review 3.5 stars)

The Orchid: DDs give it 5 stars (avg. 3 stars)

Champs BBQ: DDs give it 5 stars (avg. 3.5 stars)

Aren't divas supposed to be notoriously hard to please?

They aren't pro restaurant reviewers, they're just our Bako divas enjoying lunch. So if they like it, they just throw a 5 to it, I would assume.

As an Italian American, I can honestly say that Joseph's is horrible.  My wife and I had their calzones once, and I asked for extra white and red sauce.  The white sauce had virtually no taste, and their red sauce was extremely too peppery and acidic.

I was not impressed.

Their kitchen is FILTHY. We used to get take-out from there and I just stopped looking at the door to the kitchen when waiting at the counter. Watching Bill right now ... he's on fire! Almost makes me want to be a Democrat.
