It sprinkled very lightly in Bakersfield this afternoon.

It was enough to get the locals all a-twitter.

Not once. Not twice. But three times!

Too funny.  But also true.  I work downtown and saw roofers next door scrambling.  Thinking there was a fire, earthquake or other pending disaster, I looked closer and realized that yes, it was sprinkling!  I then ran and told everyone else at work.  (By the way, the streets have long since dried.)

When we have nothing but boring sunny days in California, a little rain is pretty dang exciting....

It's a symptom of living in the desert. Oh, how I miss real weather!

I emerged from a meeting at the Bakersfield Museum of Art and thought the breeze had blown drops of water from the fountains onto the sidewalk. But then when I got to the car, I noticed two drops on my poster I was carrying. Sadly, they dried before I got back to the office so I lost my proof that it indeed had sprinkled!

Are you kiddin' me? How unfair! I was napping at that time, but it didn't rain at my house. No one else saw any rain. My sister and her husband probably saw some while they were subbing for schools in the city. But we didn't get any at my house because we don't live in the city. When I looked outside I could see clouds to the left of me, toward the city, but there was nothing over my head. Lame! Why didn't I get any rain? Wah.
