bakosphere - > Bakosphere -> The dust before the storm
The dust before the storm

This place is a dirty ol' town at the best of times, but at the moment it's plain disgusting.

Perched on top of the downtown parking structure a few minutes ago I was squinting just to look through the camera lens, the particles of grime were swirling so maniacally.

There was a dead pigeon on the roof too, but I didn't take a photo of that. I couldn't be sure it was a dust-related death.

"DISdustING!"  It's so ugly that, in an odd way, there is beauty in it.

OOH, I remember the BIG DUST STORM!  I had a baby and a toddler and no water or power for 6 days.  I don't find any beauty in a dust storm.

I had to run some errands and inhaled a ton of dust. I probably have three types of valley fever now.

I took off on my motorcycle at 80mph through what I could only describe as an apocalyptic wasteland. The waves of dust were insane. Most fun I had all month.

A while back I took a walk and was disgusted that someone had laid a dead pigeon on a knit cap at the foot of the Veterans Memorial next to the Library. Then once I saw the head of a decapitated pigeon while on a walk. What's up with dead pigeons downtown? Is there a pigeon murderer?

Please no repeat of 1978.    I know it's been thirty-one years but I still get antsy when I see the dust blow.

I'm with you Audrey! Was it 77 or 78? I thought in was about December 1977......

My dog has been hugging my leg all day and won't leave my side........... wonder what he knows that I don't!
