Comics poll results are in!

After more ballot counting than you can imagine, we've released the results of the comics poll we held many moons ago.

See which strips will be added and which will be going bye bye.

Just some of the questions that will be answered include!....

• Will Family Circus get the boot?

• Will Sherman's Lagoon be brought back?

• Does ANYONE read Prince Valiant?

I voted online about a month or more ago it seems.  I was VERY disappointed in the format in which I was forced to vote.  I HAD to vote my favorit in EVERY category (in order to move on to the next page) and I HAD to vote for a least favorite in every category.

There were so many categories in which I don't even read and others where all four were my favorites.  But to vote, I had to choose one favorite and one least favorite.   And my apologies to others.  Being forced to vote for EVERY category, I just guessed on which would be my favorite and least favorites.  But I wasn't given a choice to skip that section.

This was wrong.  All comics should've been listed, regardless of what category they are in.  I should've been given the chance to pick out my favorites (3 of which are in the "teen" section) or at least rank them.  Or to NOT have to choose a least favorite one, knowing that it would be counted towards that comic's removal.

I was very upset when I finished my voting, feeling as if I was cheated in getting to really vote for my favorites and least favorites, unlike past comic surveys.

After I did the online voting (which took more than one attempt, the process was so unclear), I finished feeling the same way you did, ferretnaura.  But I don't subscribe to the newspaper except for Sundays, and I read my most of my favorite comics online during the week.  So I guess you could say that, ultimately, the outcome of this poll makes no difference to me.

So correct, this survey assumed that every reader read every single comic strip, every single day of the week.

I only read 4 comic strips each morning;  For Better or for Worse, Zits, Luann, and Get Fuzzy.  Three of which are in the same category on the survey!  A full ranking of every comic should have been done, not divided up by category.  Meaning there are 20+ comic strips that I would be happy or care less if they were included or not, but i was unable to vote that way.

Poorly done survey where actual results are not what they seem.  Too late now though.
