High schoolers have fun busting illegal tobacco sellers

Local law enforcement recruited a bunch of high schoolers to act as decoys and try to buy cigarettes from tobacco sellers.

And guess what?

It was fun!

I don't understand the motive of this particular law enforcement activity. If child decoys are not used, then obviously a crime would not be commited. Don't we have enough crime without using children to manufacture it?

You really think they only sell tobacco to decoys?

Earlier this year child decoys were used to arrest people for buying booze for minors. I understand your point, Nancy, nor do I entirely disagree with it. I just feel there's a notable difference of a child decoy approaching an adult and asking him to break the law, rather than an adult approaching the child and offering to do so.

Taken to extremes, I could pick up a hitch hiking child decoy on the highway and get arrested for kidnapping. It's the extemes that make me have reservations.

i wish you guys would target the tabacco shop in the tractor supply shopping center on rosedale and calloway, by were el chili verde USED to be (it actually right next to the subway, and some hair salon)

every time i drive by there, i have seen what appears to be minors hanging out.  an adult would come out of the store, and give them packs of smokes, and the kids would take off.
