Wild mob involved in attack on store clerks

KBAK has some security-camera video showing a violent scene in which a Fastrip clerk confronts someone allegedly stealing a case of beer. The suspect and several other people then assault the clerk.

Several other clerks then come to his aid, and armed with a broom, help get the suspects out the door. A clerk then goes back outside, drawing a mob back to the door, where they crack safety glass trying to get inside.

The suspects then try to drive off, but when clerk Gerardo Munoz -- now outside and running after the truck  -- throws something at their car, the group returns and attacks him. Munoz was stabbed, suffering a punctured lung.

Police have made two arrests.

Unreal.

The only time I've gotten dictatorial and uncompromising and strictly forbade my wife or kid from doing something is when they considered taking a job clerking at a convenience store.

Why would this store clerk risk his life over a case of beer?  Its not money out of his pocket.   Wow the stupidity of some people.  bet he don't get a raise, or even a thank you for trying to save that case of beer!

Enough is enough; again I say, where in the hell are the parents?

Lana, I don't know about the clerks at that store but it happened to me when I had a little neighborhood store ( one of my two biggest mistakes).  Two young men headed for the register each with a suitcase under each arm and when they got close they took off running out the door.  Without thinking I ran after them yelling "bring that back" like an idiot.  They ran around the corner of the building, jumped in a waiting car with a red grease rag over the plate and roared off.

I was so angry and insulted..how DARE they steal from me.  It took a little bit for me to realize what a stupid thing I did.  I guess it's instinct along with the outrage.   Looking back I shake my head at what a dangerous thing thing that was to do.

They call that acting without thinking first, I think.

Though it's easier for some to make that mistake than it is for others, it's more common than not.

That's why I would never work in a store like that....I'd let them take as much as they wanted before the cops got there...my instinct is to stay alive.   Anymore the kids are more dangerous then some adults.
