Check out Californian city beat writer James Geluso's blog for a bit of action between former Congressman Bill Thomas and current councilwoman Sue Benham over a possible connection between Highway 58 and the future Westside Parkway.

No one has commented yet on KGET's story about the standoff last night. But B.com bloggers are calling Thomas both a has-been and a force to be reckoned with.

Check out Geluso's initial blog about "the forbidden freeway" and a map of proposed highway projects for Bakersfield.

What exactly is all this hub-bub about? Read today's article on B.com.
