Only Beautiful Girls Kidnapped?

Another beautiful girl has been kidnapped. Do ugly people ever get kidnapped? Hell I’ve never seen media coverage of a beautiful Black girl kidnapped or a beautiful Mexican female kidnapped and never ugly White girls…only beautiful White girls…..kind of cheapens the impact of kidnapping all together. Perhaps the media thinks people won’t care about the not so pretty ones or the other races but I actually find myself not caring as much about the beautiful ones due to the imbalance…..that is sad, very very sad!

Someone once nicknamed CNN the "WWWA" Network, for "Where the White Women At?"

never ugly White girls…

A couple of guys could get together and kidnap Rosie O'Donnell, but, well...ever read "The Ransom of Red Chief?"

it is pathetic and actually shows somewhat of institutional racism or bias.

Dusty I certainly hope you don't think I am clowning around because these other jokers responding can't take it serious. The fact that the media over looks not so preety people and peolpe of color has pissed me off for a long time. The way the media covers it is bigotry and racsist.

Most news programs are jokes, while I sincerely do feel sorry for all of the little children that I hear of being kidnapped...in some ways I feel more sorry for the ones who I know are not being mentioned. They aren't getting the coverage that might safely bring them home. I can't even imagine what that is like for their families, knowing that their kids aren't being helped by more people because the news reporters want higher ratings and they think the only way to get that is with pretty white girls and women.

Does the media ever go on and on about the tragedy of a missing now presumed dead black woman? So based on the news coverage I guess that only white girls and women get kidnapped. This was an interesting topic brought up in a feminist magazine I subscribe to (Bitch Magazine), I had sort of noticed this trend before reading that article several years ago, but afterwards it became more and more obvious...like a sore thumb I guess.

There is a good episode of Law & Order about a beautiful white teenage girl who goes missing in NY while on a school trip, after looking into it the investigators happen upon another missing girl they are positive may have been abducted/killed by the same guy. The second girl was a beautiful black teenage girl whose Mother had been told by the original police officers on the case that her daughter had probably run away and then they just blew her off. A local popular news reporter also blew her off when she had written to her asking for coverage, this same reporter jumped all over the story of the white girl. Only getting around to the black girl when the connection between the kidnappings surfaced then suddenly she was dying to broadcast that story too. The Mother of the black girl told this news reporter that she knew how these things worked "If she's white put her in the spotlight, if she's black put her in the back." and not to "Mistake her desperation for gratitude." It was a very good episode highlighting what goes on every day on these news programs.

It just makes me sick.

It also seems that kidnapped little boys (of all races) are not mentioned much either, little boys mostly only get mentioned in the news if a Catholic priest molested them.

Or little boys that are found alive after being gone for a long time. Then Bill O goes after them saying they 'liked' it. Disgusting little man that he is.

I agree with bballdad and Amara..its a joke..but its not funny by any stretch of the imagination. You gotta be pretty and white to get on the "news" if your kidnapped.

I was hoping someone would take this a little more serios than the first few comments(thanks "D" and Amara). Perhaps the earlier comments  is a reflection of why the media only covers PWW. That is pretty sad

Eh...I think it's got to do with money- fair or not, it's true- most of these "beautiful girls" come from money- money buys publicity- Should the media cover all equally? of course- but they don't -and those that "gots"..... "gets"
