I am concerned regarding the health care bill.  I have watched the TV, read the paper and looked on the computer.  I am confused about who is giving out the correct information.  It seems that the lawmakers (not all of them I am sure) are more  concerned about their party status than they are about the people they represent.  I believe that if the current trend in the separation of opinions between the democrats and republicans is not put aside and some constructive  work done - not only on health care but the state of our economy, our education system and putting Americans to work - our country as we know it, is going to no longer be.

Instead of trying to start more programs why don't we correct what we have going?  We have medicare-make it available to all who don't have insurance if they want it.  You want to know how it will be paid for?  Look within the system itself now.. Why does one Doctor charge $125 for a office visit and another charge $65? Set a cap on how much can be charged for services rendered.  I agree with the President that x-rays and other tests should follow the patient from Dr to Dr - this would be a tremendous savings.  The American public needs to stop being so lazy and pay attention to what is going on with their bills.  If someone is hospitalized how many people even see a itemized bill?  How many call to get one?  There are charges on our hospital bills for things we did not receive.  It should be mandatory that the patient gets a copy of that bill and then the patient needs to review it.

I would like to ask two questions- and if these were fixed we would be saving enough money to pay for medical coverage for all Americans who do not have it.

 1.  Why do inmates get faster, and better care than my family members and others who have no insurance?  They have done nothing wrong but when they get sick they can not seek medical care.  I have been taken to the hospital and had to wait in the emergency room while 3 to 4 inmates are treated before me - and I have great insurance.  I am not saying don't treat them; I am saying they have committed a crime-treat them only if it is a serious medical emergency.  Each prison could have a PA and a nurse to treat non emergency medical problems.  Taking a inmate to a specialist would and should be out of the question.  What kind of lesson are we teaching these people?  It is OK to break the law and go to jail - if you get sick there (or pretend to be sick) you will get the best of care. They also can go to school and get their GED, be trained in a trade, have access to computers, have overnight visits with wives and we the American public is paying for it all.  This looks like a place to obtain a tremendous savings to our Federal and State Governments.  Jail is supposed to be a punishment for something done wrong.

2.  Why do illegal immigrants get medical care before Americans and legal immigrants?  Do not give medical care - unless it is serious medical emergency.  There should be a requirement that documentation has to be given showing US citizenship or a green card showing they have a right to be in this country.  Our country can not take care of the world if we can not take care of our own.

Our economy is a mess because we have pushed business overseas.  You can't blame them.  When you can pay a worker $300.00 per month (and shame on us, they think they are rich), I would go overseas also.  There they don't have the taxes, environmental constraints and over regulations that our Country has.  Our government is laboring under the gross misconception that the American public can not think or make safe decisions on their own.  Bring businesses home, put Americans to work.  Send the illegals home.  I know they are looking to better themselves and want more for their families, but you know what?  But, if they want to be here they need to do it the right way, do the paperwork, take the classes, take the test and become an American.  Right now, because we don't curb the flow we will have more people coming and none of these people are paying taxes, they are sending money home to their families so they can come here also.  In the mean time they are drawing welfare and getting free medical care.  Put all of the prisoners that are here illegally in buses and take them back to Mexico if that is where they are from and any others from other countries - send them home also.  We have to send this message that no one is allowed to come to this country unless they follow the proper procedure.

Why when we are looking for money do we attack our own children and aged?  What is wrong with us, why do we let this happen?  Our children are behind other countries and we continually prey on them when State and Federal Government has over reached their budget.  We complain that we don't have good teachers-is this a job you would want to have, if you knew that every couple of years you could be without a job?

Everyone knows what a budget is.  Everyone knows that you can not rob Peter to pay Paul, but our government does and we let them.  Lobbying should be made illegal.  If a project comes up it should be put out to bid - and the best man for the job should get it and they should have to stay within the bid guidelines.  Each individual in government is responsible for how much money is spent in their department.  I think we have gotten so used to thinking of the money as government money that we have forgotten that, that money comes out of our pockets, out of the schools, out of services offered to the seniors, disabled and others who need it.  Congress, and the House need to stop thinking they are untouchable.. They do not get to spend our money on private planes, government cars they take home at night, go the conventions, go to other countries, take their families on vacation and have better medical care and ridiculously high salaries than the people they represent.

Someone, somewhere has to stand up and say enough is enough!  It is our responsibility as Americans -not democrats or republicans but Americans.  If you don't speak up to the correct people - your Senators, Representatives, the President anyone who will listen this will not change.
