Headin' for Vegas: The Chad Vegas Interview Anticipation Song: Lyric today/hear it tomorrow

You heard read it here first.   You should be able to hear it tomorrow, if other songs don't take the lead in the crowded freeway of new songs inside my head.

Headin' for Vegas

(The Chad Davis Interview Anticipation Song)

words and music by Dr BLT copyright 2008

headin' for Vegas

loaded with questions

some of my own

some are the left's ones

trying to keep out

my old right-wing bias

I'm headin' for Vegas and then

I'll sit right there

on that old Starbucks chair

and I'll give them to Chad

one by one

with recorder in hand

I will chat with the man

as we ponder his words

and the deeds that he's done

we'll talk about budgets

and Bibles in classrooms

we'll talk 10 Commandments

and Christmas and more

we'll talk about marriage

and why they disparage

the way that he's servin' the Lord

I'll sit right there

on that old Starbucks chair

and I'll give them to Chad

one by one

with recorder in hand

I will chat with the man

as we ponder his words

and the deeds that he's done

I remember the days

of the old hanging chad

that debacle between Bush and Gore

do they want to bring back

hanging Chad in this town

on the new front

of that culture war

I'm headin' for Vegas

with questions that plague us

not goin' to settle some scores

I'm headin' for Vegas

not a thing will delay us

I'm hopin' to open some doors

headin' for Vegas

I wouldn't waste your time with Vegas.  Everyone knows his views.  He is an extremist who I look forward to just going away.  He is one of the reasons why Bakersfield is seen as a town that is going no where.  As long as we have elected or appointed officials like Vegas Bakesfield will go no where and continue to be a joke.  I am all for freedom of religion and freedom of speech.  However, there is also a thing called seperation of church and state.  Vegas has shown his inability to do his job without inflecting his religious beliefs.  He should resign.

I would suggest trying to keep an open mind like so many of the others here, who share your view of Chad Vegas, but have contributed prospective questions.

Are you still calling him "Chad Davis" on purpose or by accident?  :)

Ok, how about asking him his opinion as to what seperation of church and state mean?

Sounds just like something Tim Russert would have written.... ;-)

Believe it or not, it's by accident.  I'm trying to figure out why it's such a stubborn mistake that I keep falling back into.  I think I used "Davis" several times here today and had to go back and edit it.

The only other Davises that come to mind are Clive Davis, music mogul, and Gray Davis, former Gov. of California.  I don't see any obvious connection there.  Of course Vegas rhymes with Davis, but that doesn't sound like a very good reason for repeating the mistake more than once or twice.

Being a shrink, I should be able to come up with a possible unconsious motive, but, so far, I haven't.  I would welcome any hypotheses that folks may have.

Maybe all of the liberals here have just finally caused me to lose my mind.  Of course, if one's mind is already somewhat lost, it's pretty hard to lose it.

I'll take that as a compliment, sagefever!  :)

As long as you ask him balanced questions from all sides of the fence, I'll look forward to reading the finished product.

I promise to try my best to do just that.  Of course if there are any unbalanced folks out there, we may not see eye to eye in terms of what is and what is not balanced :)

All kidding aside, I'm going to try to keep my own personal biases out of the questions.

Hopefully you'll ask my question.. I think it's valid.
