I'm Goin' to Walk through Every Slammin' Door

I'm Goin' to Walk through Every Slammin' Door

words and music by Dr BLT copyright 2009

 chorus:

I'm goin' to walk through

every slammin' door

I'm goin' to walk through

like folks who've gone before

I had so many doors slammed in my face

and they're be more

but in the end I'll walk through every slammin' door

it started with a woman who lost her love for me

perhaps it wasn't love

but only lust she had for me

she thought I'd be a country star

just like old Buck or Merle

but she couldn't wait long enough

for my one big hit to score

(chorus)

Some doors are made of wood

and some doors are made of steel

they've all slammed in my face

but that won't change the way I feel

I'll just keep knockin' louder

though my fist is getting sore

some day I'll walk through

every slammin' door

How about the rest of you?  Have you had doors slammed in your face?  What kept you going in the face of those slamming doors?  What sustained you?

Faith in yourself can sustain you.   So sorry for your trouble.

Thanks for your words of encourgement.   I wouldn't call a few doors slammed in my face "trouble."  Trouble is when you've had so many doors slammed in your face that you fall down and can't get back up.  Even the character I've written about in this song isn't to that point.  But I appreciate your kind words of compassion just the same.
