California Needs to get "Fixxed"

California is in a heap of trouble.  Fewer and fewer of us can claim to be shielded or immune from these problems with each day that passes.

If you haven't lost your job, your income is dwindling and your tax burden is not.  If you haven't lost your house, you probably know somebody who has.  It's not pretty.  I was pondering all of these things and feeling a bit overwhelmed, until I dug up an old vinyl record.  It was the Fixx's Reach the Beach.   Ah!  Sweet escape, no more regrets, no more worries, just great 80s retro music.

How about you, what is your musical "Fixx" to California's crisis?  What album allows you the quickest escape route?

I haven't thought of Fixx in years.  How about this one.  Do you think 'Less Cities, More Moving People' actually means anything?www.youtube.com/watch

I really like live music in small venues and am not real picky on the genre.  There seems to be free live music all over the central coast most of the year but much more now that summer is peaking around the corner.  I saw Joe Koenig backed up by "On the Spot" trio last night and they were amazing.  BLT I think you would fit in at one of the open mics nights around here.

Thanks, I haven't participated in an open mic for a long time.  It might be time to check out that scene once again.
