Which statement most accurately reflects what Buck Owens once said about me?

Welcome to another round of Bakersfield Sound Trivia Quest.  Here is today's Bakersfield Sound Trivia Quest question (don't allow the photo to throw you off, it could be a clue, or it could be a diversion):

After hearing The Buck Stops Here, a song Jim Shaw played him off a cassette tape that came from me in Sacramento in the late 90s, Buck Owens is quoted as saying this about me and my song:

a.  "He'll never amount to anything."

b. "Get that boy down here, let's get him a record contract."

c. "I'm quite confident he'll be the next Buck Owens."

d. "He reminds me of Johnny Cash."

e.  None of the above

f.  All of the above, and then some

g.  He used language that is not appropriate on this blog site

The winner of today's trivia question wins a copy of the song, The Buck Stops Here, off the CD, Confessions of a Buckaholic.

To collect your prize, all you need to do is show up at the next Dr BLT CD release party.

So far, no winner.  Its okay.  Take your time.  Really think this through before blurting out an answer prematurely.

Still no winner.  Time for a clue?  Here is that clue: The answer is not "F."

I'm going with a mixture of "a" and "g."  LOL!

J/K BLT.  I'm really curious, though.  It's cool that you met Buck Owens.  : )

Close, Catherine, but no cigar.  LOL. And just for the record (pun intended), I didn't actually meet Buck Owens, his comments about me were passed on to me by his right-hand man at the time, Mr. Jim Shaw.   Jim Shaw gave me permission to send the song to him and offered to let Buck here it.  After Jim Shaw played the song to him, Buck made a comment about me.  Jim passed the comment down to me.  So there you have it.

I'm sorry you did not win the contest, but you have helped narrow things down for other prospective contestants.

G. I'm guessing.

Elinem, any relation to Eminem?  Good guess, but not a correct one.  Guess again.  It doesn't hurt to take a risk.  I know this is a tricky one, but there is a correct answer among these alternatives that I've offered.

D.  (But I live in the Midwest.)  So I disqualify myself.  Fun anyhow.

D,.... because he can't sing and only knows 3 chords. :-)

ALICEN, You are the clear, unequivocal winner.  You're not allowed to disqualify yourself, so congratulations.  Joe0403, you came so close to winning.  And if that's the reason that drew the Cash comparison, I'll take it.  After all, I have a song that goes "all you need are 3 chords and a heartache..."

Blognroll:  I would love to be there in person to pick up my prize, but as I said I'm in the Midwest.  Traveling to the West Coast unfortunately isn't in the cards for me right now.  So you'll have to choose a runner-up, who'll just have to accept it in my name.  It was fun guessing, even if I should have disqualified myself to the extent of not having entered.  Well, next time you do this, I'll just play the guessing game without comment, so there will really be a clear winner.  Thank you anyhow.

By the by, yesterday I bought an instant lottery ticket and won $20!  Yesterday must have been my lucky day.  Now if only I'd played one of the mega-lottos in the country...........or gone to the casino.  Oh, well.

Well, if you'd like a copy of the song, email me, and we can try to figure out another way to get it to you.

blognroll:  Now I really feel bad.  I'd feel as though I were taking something that didn't belong to me, and I really don't like feeling that way.  I would feel so much better if you gave it to the runner-up, who could be there in person.  Really.  I just feel bad about having jumped in there when I knew full well that even if I won, I wouldn't be able to be there.  I may contact you through the site about it.  Thanks.
