Not Merle's Hillary: New song answers Merle Haggard's song about Clinton

This is Not Merle's Hillary.  Is it the "real Hillary"?  Well, perhaps some may prefer to see it as the distorted side Dick Morris (who has an obvious axe to grind) sees, and the side that Merle (whose only "axe" is his guitar) may not see.   Is Merle blind to Hillary's dark side (or perhaps "bewitched), or is Dick blind to her bright side?  I've seen shades of both sides (very little of the side offered in Merle's song).  Dick Morris may have seen double when he looked at her dark side, and Merle may have stuck his head in the sand when he found the inspiration for his song.

Here's a version of my song you can download for free:

Either way, I figured there should be an alternative to the song Merle is offering, so I'm posting it here.  And here are the lyrics:

Not Merle’s Hillary

Dr BLT

Words and music by Dr BLT © 2007

It’s not that you’re too left

It’s not that you’re too right

It’s just that we can see

That you don’t want to fight

For anything that’s real

For what you really feel

It looks like just an act

Can’t you see

Hillary, Hillary

Hillary, Hillary

One day you’re for the war

The next, you stand for peace

Our patience’s wearin’ thin

But you refuse to speak

About a single thing

That means a lot to me

Oh woman, where’s your soul

you seems so hard and cold

Hillary, Hillary

Hillary, Hillary

Your mouth is movin’

But there ain’t no words

Except contradictory words

I’ve already heard

You make John Kerry look consistent though

I wonder if Merle Haggard knows this

Hillary, Hillary

Hillary, Hillary

Dr. BLT, your song about Hillary is better than Merle's and creates a more realistic view of her.  If the election were between your song and Merle's I'd vote for yours.

I'm clearly unworthy of such a compliment, but thanks anyway to you, my anonymous fan.

Do you think Hillary actually has a chance in hell of becoming president?

All I keep hearing about HIllary is her screechy voice.  Is that enough to keep her out of the Oval Office?

To answer anon's question, if the Republicans don't put forth someone who presents a real contrast to the Democrats, and someone with lots of charisma: Unfortunetly, yes, screechy voice and all.  And yes, Nancy, her voice is annoyingly screechy---like finger nails on a chalkboard.

A fine reason to judge someone for Prez..their voice..

jeez.

Well, dusty, if you have to listen to that voice for 8 years, don't you think the "voice" should at least factor in there somewhere?  Could you imagine listening to Ross Perot's voice for 8 years almost every day on television and radio?

If Ross was a great leader that did good things for our country I don't care if he was 5'6" and weighed 300 lbs. BLT.

Its substance, not the look, sound or warm and fuzzyness of the person.

But what about if the candidate lacks substance, and has a screechy voice?  Of course, I'm implying, in not so subtle terms, that Hill fits the bill.

In your POV she has nothing going for her. That makes me suspect right off the bat BLT. Even McCain has a few quality attributes..and Rudy too. :)

I didn't say she had nothing going for her.  I'm saying that she lacks substance.  So, yes, she has positive attributes.  Substance is not one of them.

Why do you need a song both Hillary and Obama are second hand roses with the American electorate. lots of money will go to waste, Hillary is too feminine for the electorate and ABM is too black.

Actually, I think Hillary is too masculine.  Every candidate is too something or other.  Rudy, for example, is too liberal on social issues to ultimately be accepted by the Republicans.  Sooner or later, the electorate will pick one of the candidates that is too something or other and we'll all have been too blind to see it coming.  Second Hand Roses would make a good song title though.

Hillary wants felons to get the right to vote (this 'splains Merle's POV)

As to the "Why"  on her part, it is obvious -- they 90% vote Dem

But she is nothing if not a very smart Poli-Wonk!

I guess thats a good quality
