Bakersfield.com Bloggers Meet Up 4.21.07

Thanks again to the Bakersfield.com staff for another great party!

Above Possummomma, the Boss Man Steve. his boss "Scary," and Woof Woof share a pleasant moment with their legal addictive stimulants

Head Pastafarian  aka Random Factor and Spouse #2 were a pleasant presence as well.

Web Master Jason and PossumDaddy share a contemplative moment.

Cam's Girl and Possummomma share a joke, I think.

Will the real Matloch please stand up?!

I think the less said about this pic the better.

This little blogger totally threw off the demographics...she sure is cute though!

And, of course, without these hard working folks we would have had no legal addictive stimulants at all...ROTFL

Sorry everybody about the horrible lighting and shadows in these pix, I just didn't have time to Photoshop them.  Looking forward to the next event.

Take care everybody!

BMWeerman

Sorry I was late folks and missed most of you.  Jason's daughter is indeed a cutie and God bless her and her family.

Thanks for the pictures, Cameron.  Sorry I missed it.

Now I feel really bad about missing the get together.  Thanks for sharing Cameron.  Nice to see faces of people I've been talking to.

I'm a little confused about Matt and the picture underneath though.

posted by bmweerman on Apr 21, 2007 at 10:52 PM
You're welcome Tom...and what are you confused about Nancy?
posted by NancyII on Apr 21, 2007 at 11:00 PM
Is Matt in red and who are the two in the following picture?
posted by bmweerman on Apr 21, 2007 at 11:09 PM
Yes, that is Matt in the Red Shirt.  The folks in the next picture are my daughter Maddi and Possommomma's husband.
posted by NancyII on Apr 21, 2007 at 11:25 PM

Duhhh..you'd think I'd pick up on the shirt Possumdaddy had on  huh?  Pretty girl, your Maddi.

It must be time for sleep.

Sorry to have missed it. My grandma wasn't feeling so great, so I went over early. I will certainly try again next time.

Awesome documentation of the event!! :)  Although, as always, I think I look WAY over-weight.  Being sick has sure packed the pounds on.

I really, really, really enjoyed meeting all of you!!  I hope that, next time, I get to talk with those who I didn't get a chance to "talk with" today.  Good times!

Thanks for the the nice shots of the event BMW. It was really cool to put the faces to the keyboards, so to speak. I had a great time.

Adam..and where are you in the pictures?  Hmmmm?  Don't tell me you sneaked past the photographer?
posted by bmweerman on Apr 22, 2007 at 08:51 AM
I have plenty more...I just wasn't sure who was who...if anybody feels dissed I will be happy to post more!
posted by adampayne on Apr 22, 2007 at 08:52 AM
The photographer obviously has a good eye, and spared his lenses from the damage that my mug might inflict. Sorry you could not make it down for the little blogger-clatch. Next time.

I was in Porterville visinting my mom.  Next time for sure.  I hope I can convince my daughter, Cat, to attend too.

I was sifting through my recyclables.

Separating good and bad grammar..

When I was done. I couldn’t remember which pile was which.

I suppose I’ll have to start all over.

Darn.

The "Good Lord willin' and the crick don't rise", I'll be at the next one.    Cassie finally got all her "stuff" moved back here from Vegas, we got it stowed in my garage, and motopoet said he had a blowout on the trip.  He'd probably rather have been at the blogger-clatch.

Cameron...toss 'em all up on the blog and let everyone there sort them out.  :-)  It was interesting to see that Matt doesn't really smoke a pipe or look like Ronald Reagan.  (snicker)

posted by bmweerman on Apr 22, 2007 at 05:14 PM

Well Nancy...I'm not going to throw them all up there because they would embarass me or someone else, but I put up a few more.  I think I caught everbody with the exception of Buffoo who showed up after I had packed everything up.

Enjoy

Thanks Cameron..now I know who everyone is except the gentleman in the gray sweater.

I enjoyed seeing family members too.  I think it's great to see the ones we've been talking about and maybe Aidan can come to the next one and bring his Mom Cassie.

You are very welcome Nancy....but you didn't mention  my  "masterful" job of Photoshopping myself in!  :[  ROTFL
posted by NancyII on Apr 22, 2007 at 08:37 PM
That was quite masterful Cameron...I thought you had set up a keyboard in the middle of the room.   LOL.
posted by mattloch on Apr 22, 2007 at 11:23 PM
They don't allow smoking indoors anymore Nancy, or else I may have brought a pipe with me. If there's ever an outdoors get-together (BBQ?), I'll be sure to toss one into a pocket. Can't disappoint my fans!
posted by NancyII on Apr 22, 2007 at 11:34 PM

hehe..I'll look forward to that Matt.  As smokers go, I always did prefer a man with a pipe.  Just no cigars please.  :-)

By the way..a BBQ sounds pretty good.  Jason can supply the drinks and we bring our own main dish.  (hot dogs, steaks, chicken.)

Nancy,
You did miss a great event.
To answer your question, Adam has sunglasses on his head and is wearing a long sleeve tan polo shirt. Mary and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him.
As I said on PM's blog, we had a great time getting to know everyone and chatting about all manner of things.
And Cameron, thanks for all the pictures. Good job.
One of the best stories of the event was how Mattlock chose his icon.

It sure sounds like a good time was had by all of you. The pictures are a treat, thanks for sharing them.

The picture of me is actually better than my driver license photo.  And *THAT* was a personal best, till now. :)
posted by NancyII on Apr 23, 2007 at 07:35 AM

Isn't it funny how we all look like normal people?  Not a one looked like a kook or a monster.  I'm VERY impressed.  :-)

Bloggers seem to clean up pretty well on a Saturday night.  (or afternoon as the case may be.)

posted by woofwoof on Apr 23, 2007 at 07:45 AM

I agree Random, Cameron caught your essence, along with the misses.  Great picture.  You better print that one out and frame it.  It truly is a excellent shot.

Cam, I was wonder too, about the "addition" of you in the photo.  Oh and by the way, what kind of camera is that?  Pricey, I bet....but awesome shooting.

I ask Steve not too make a big deal out of us going golfing, so far he has held back any comments. Ok Steve it's out now and I hope you have nothing but (PRAISE) for me. heh heh. Ron had a great time.

It was great to see everyone, and I hope to meet more new "faces" at upcoming events.  Thanks, all, for participating!  (And thanks for the pix, Cam!)
posted by mattloch on Apr 23, 2007 at 09:41 AM
Yup Nancy, we can look "normal" for 1/20th of a second. Beyond that it takes a lot of effort.....  ;)

I was there in spirit.  DId anybody sense my presence?
posted by randomfactor on Apr 23, 2007 at 03:31 PM
I *THOUGHT* that was you picking out the muzak...
posted by bmweerman on Apr 23, 2007 at 03:48 PM
Thanks everybody...I enjoyed taking the pix.

And, to answer your question Woof....Photoshop is a dangerous tool in the wrong hands. he he

And the camera I use is not that expensive for what it is...it is a Panasonic 10MP with a 12x optical zoom which up until recently would have set you back 3 grand or so...The Panasonic with a good lens can be had now for about $700.

It is not a D50 for sure, but I wouldn't carry one of those in the tank bag of the bike either.

Looking forward to seeing you all next time.

I may have sensed you BLT. Or I could have had indigestion. Dunno. 50/50 there......
posted by blognroll on Apr 23, 2007 at 04:25 PM

Random, what have you been drinking?  :)

C'mon Mattloch, don't try to pass off that look of intellectual intimidation with an excuse like indigestion : )   That sounds a bit like a familiar line from  Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.  If you did have indigestion, it's probably from the food for thought I've been feeding you.  LOL.

Iced Mocha.  But only because they didn't have Diet Pepsi.  Wonder if they'd mind my bringing a cooler...
