I agree...
I would never ever feed Purina, too much corn and other fillers that cause allergies and digestive problems, Purina and Hatz Mountain flea products are a HUGE NO in my house! But so many people are either not aware or cannot afford the organic or premium pet foods. No one would intentionally hurt their pet and it is devastating when such a thing happens. Right now Purina has issues and these need to be addressed. Purina is stonewalling the pet owners whose pets have been injured or killed by contaminated pet food and that is so wrong. Even if the contamination was caused during storage etc. it would go a long ways toward creating good will and customer relations if the company would step up to the plate and find out. Personally I feel it is their responsibility towards pets and pet owners.

I have a cat with odd food allergies, so for me it was pretty imperative to shop in the natural food aisle. Even with their higher quality, it took some trial and error to find a food he could stomach. I'm now using Castor & Pollux brand dry food, both their Ultramix and Organix line. I buy it on petco.com and have it shipped to my door. It's actually cheaper for the 15lb Organix ($30) than the 15lb Ultramix Indoor ($40), but they love the dried fruit and veggie chunks in the Ultramix so much, I don't want to switch them just to the Organix. I never knew cats could be ga-ga for bananas and carrots until I tried the Ultramix. Now I can't eat a banana or carrot with a cat begging for some. posted by

Catgirl uses "Felidae" that can be mail ordered from Only Natural Pet Store., You can check out EVO, California Natural or Mother Nature at www.naturapet.com , but it is a good idea to find manufacturers that will offer samples of their products. They will mail them to you, usually with only a minimal shipping charge, you can try them on your travel companion and check the response. Smaller pet stores are usually very accommodating in proving samples and will also special order for you.
Catgirl will try to compile a list of holistic manufacturers for you but she is working on an Anthropology paper due on Monday. So please be patient.
