Solid waste issues resurface
Remember that recycling debate from last year? It's back. Sort of. The question now is whether we, we being metro Bakersfield, should build a new transfer station now, or wait until the state mandates increased diversion. It's especially interesting in relation to the recycling vote. Zack Scrivner voted against recycling because, he said, he wanted to wait for the mandates. Howard Hanson, on the other hand, seemed to like the idea of a comprehensive solution being pitched by the haulers, which has now manifested in this proposal.
