Reader feedback to Monday's stories
I worked the Sunday shift this week. When you work weekends at The Californian, just like any other paper, you cover whatever there is to be covered, regardless of your beat. So on Sunday, I wrote three stories, covering the death of a former city councilman, a foiled kidnapping, and a vigil for a man killed in a shootout with police. Two of those generated feedback, which I'll share with you here: ___ Dear Mr. Geluso, ___

I read those articles. I was thrilled to hear that the little girl who was kidnapped was rescued by her dad before anything worse happened to her. It is so rare that we get a happy ending to this type of story. As far as the article about the man killed in the shootout with police, I wonder how the person commenting would have felt had he been related to the person killed. Even gang members have families and friends. Compassion seems to be sadly lacking in this community sometimes. posted by

Both articles were good reads. The happy ending of what could have been tragedy was heartwarming. The article about the dead alleged gang member I felt was very much needed~ if you've read any of the blogs generated here, the public clearly needs to know what the father said about his son's death.I thank you for that.
