Jacquie Sullivan not running unopposed
Four-term Ward 6 Councilwoman Jacquie Sullivan has a challenger, in the form on Assemblyman Bill Maze staffer Mark McCallum. McCallum is pulling no punches, and Sullivan is ready for the campaign. "Let the race begin," she told me. "Let the fun begin." 31 comments from 13 users

Yeah and I see the knife in her hand ....and I'd like to point out supporting her opponent does not qualify as an attack. Just because I am for the guy and I have never heard of him before is no reason to suppose I have ill will for Ms.Sullivan ;-P

Then I'd have to use them too Sage! Not that I was being sarcastic to you, but that I was adopting your identical posture, sarcastic and literal and all. Mark McCallum, I don't know him but I like him already. posted by

Hey, he helped support veterans in legal cases. Sounds like a nice guy. Where do we get a sign for our front yard? posted by

It is time for Ms. Sullivan to hop on her pony and ride into the sunset. let some fresh perspective fell the seat she has taken up for that past several years. posted by

Gube, I was thinking Sue Benham about the park deal. Good to see they got that park torn out so people won't have to look at the riff raff...now they just moved on down the road and there's an empty dirt field in it's place. Good job City Council. Didn't someone just last night say that you shouldn't criticize unless you have something to replace it? They should have replaced the park with something. posted by

let some fresh perspective fell the seat she has taken up for that past several years. A new face isn't always a fresh face, and just because someone is different, doesn't mean that person offers something better or has a fresher perspective. I don't care how long she's held this position. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Jacquie's the one who's the slumlord. She has nothing against the homeless...she just charges them rent. http://people.bakersfield.c...

Hooray!!! Jacquie Sullivan is a nice lady. But you know what they say..."nice guys always finish last." Vote for Mark McCallum. He stated in an interview with the Bakersfield Californian that he would not have gone back on his work as Sullivan did and voted to allow a freeway to run through the Westpark neighborhood. If city council persons cannot keep their word to their constituents, even when its captured in writing, vote 'em out. Mark worked for former congressman Pombo and is presently working for assemblymember bill maze. This gives him far more insight and experience to deal with bakersfield issues that Ms. Sullivan. Vote for Mark McCallum. posted by

Ouch. He worked for that crook Pombo? Did he at least quit in disgust? Can't we have a challenger folks can vote for? posted by

Hey Random, don't change the subject. Unseat Jacquie was the topic! And unless you have proof, I would leave Pombo alone.
