All three incumbents running for re-election
Jacquie Sullivan, Harold Hanson and Sue Benham will all run for re-election this fall. We already knew about Sullivan, who is the only city council candidate with a declared challenger so far. Hanson told me two weeks ago that he plans to run for one last term. There were rumors Benham was considering not running, but I asked her in an e-mail this morning if she's running, and she said she is. None of these statements are binding, of course, until they file to run in July. The other potential election is for Ken Weir's seat. If the recall proponents manage to collect the signatures to get the recall on the ballot in November, then there will also be an election for who to replace Weir in case the recall succeeds. The name I've heard kicked around the most is Chad Louie, who ran second to Weir in 2006. Hey Chad! Call me. 3 comments from 3 users

Sullivan's definitely a sweet lady, and Hanson cracks me up. Benham usually drives me crazy, but I've never met her. As for Weir...I think he's a good guy, but he needs to go. Just as Sage wants more than sweet in councilpeople, I want more than the ability to be closed, private, and secretive.
