Does Mark McCallum have a record of public service? Or is he just someone who had enough of Sullivan? posted by

Hotandfoggy: Mark McCallum worked as a constituent services rep for Rep. Richard Pombo until he lost his re-election in 2006. He currently works for Assemblyman Bill Mize. I haven't talked to him much, but his record seems comparable to Councilman Zack Scrivner's before he was elected. posted by

Mark McCallum seems to be a fine and competent young man. Bill Maze's term limit is just about up (unless he successfully runs for Ashburn's senatorial seat) and McCallum does not appear to be in anyone's back pocket. So, I don't see him as a "Scrivner" clone. I think he plans to consult outside of our politial morass. Anyway, glad to see someone willing to run against the local Republican political machine's candidate. Watch out for the accusations of "union," "environmentalists," and "loyalty." Let's see how this plays out .
