City Hall: Air conditioning is broken...
Expect a hot time at the city council meeting tonight, but not from the agenda.
Air conditioning at City Hall is kaput, with a central compressor or some major item dead, meaning it probably won't be fixed by meeting time at 5:15 p.m.
If you were eager to hear budget presentations from parks, fire and police departments, those are now slated to be heard BEFORE the break to closed session, City Manager Alan Tandy told me this afternoon.
Officials are trying to get all hearings in before closed session. They have to come back after closed session, even if it's just to announce the fact nothing reportable happened (also expected to be the case).
The council isn't voting on anything related to the budget tonight; just hearing department presentations.
Still, if you're eager to sit through Powerpoint shows in person, head down for the 5:15 session rather than the 6:30 one so you don't miss it.
