I'm sorry... I need a turn out.

Yesterday, I decided to finally take my books, that have been sitting in a pile in my livingroom, down to the library to donate them.  I specifically chose the southwest branch because when I was young that was the one I went to. So, needless to say, it has a special place in my heart.  And I just remember it being so sparse.  (Also, the state of california cut the budget for public libraries nearly 70%. So funds for new books isn't happening.) Anyway....  My point is I'm traveling west on Ming Ave. and I get to the library and there isn't a turn out!  Still after all these years.  I have to go all the way up to Haggin oaks and flip and U to get to the library.  I know it's not that big of a deal but it just doesn't make any sense. (Listen to me.  Bakersfield roads make sense... HA!)  Does anyone else agree?

i agree...i really shouldnt get started on the local idiot-designed roads in this town..

one thing that stands out with me is when we hired a new employee last year (from Nor-Cal) he would ask directions to a certain location, it was SO hard trying to explain WHY the road NAMES suddenly changed for no reason at all !

like Oak Street, POW - You're on Wible ...or Rosedale Hwy - that is the best, its either Hwy 178, 24th Street, Rosedale Hwy, State Hwy 58 West ... wowzers!

OH, then there's Gosford &/or Calloway which has 3 name changes each?

Brundage - BOOM - Stockdale Hwy

and what is with those FAKE left turn lanes, there's no indent to actually turn INTO, and get out of the way from the FAST LANE traffic that is about to hit YOU, but people still STOP there to flip a U ~~ huh?

yes, there are alot of bazaar streets with no common sense at all. i wonder if it is due to a combo of bad planning, and a quick growth spurt we werent ready for?

I love how two directions at Ming and Gosford have right turn lanes, but the other two directions (where they'd have to take property from Stockdale Estates or Laurelglen) don't. This lack of planning when it comes to lane widening and turn lanes is quite maddening. We're not a planned city. We're a patchwork of developments linked together.
