Governor visits Delano school
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was in Delano today and during the presentation at least two students fainted. Photographer Casey Christie got a photo of one of the students and the Gov helping her up.
Here's the info Casey sent with the photo: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger helps a Cesar Chavez High School AP student, advanced placement, up off of the stage after she fainted in the middle of the governor's speech Thursday in Delano. She was one of two students who fainted during the governor's speech after the students had stood on the stage for about an hour during lunchtime. Both students were fine after the incident. Bonus: Now you can even read the transcript of the Governor's comments. 11 comments from 9 users

Making students stand in one place for an hour during a Gropinator speech should be labeled as child abuse.

If they were starstruck, they would have fainted right away, not an hour later after standing in one place under hot lights. If I were a parent of one of the children, I'd go to the school board and protest this abuse. posted by

Last night I attended the Seventh Annual Educating the Heart Awards Dinner in Los Angeles (in honor of Ceasar Chavez) where Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was the keynote speaker. I had the honor of meeting him and he was one of the nicest men I have ever met. He was very receptive and open to speaking to the guests at the event; I was very impressed by him. He is doing great things for the State of CA for good causes. (Political Science Professor Marilynn T. Sanchez, Bakersfield College)

Oh..I gotcha..the kids can manage to stand around in the heat at the Marketplace but its child abuse if they VOLUNTARILY stand on a stage for an hour. They can march how many blocks for how long at the protest a while back but it's abuse for them to stand on the stage doing something I heard they were thrilled about. Bubbaa is right..don't lock the knees..... any wedding coordinator will tell you that too. I'm not saying that's what happened but it's still good advice. posted by

My long time buddy was a wedding coordinator and told me about that. Her grandson was in a wedding party and passed out at the altar after she had warned him about it. It was the first time I'd heard of such a thing so I googled it and there it was. Odd phenomenon isn't it?.
