"Balboa," which debuts in theaters tomorrow, is the sixth movie in a series that began with 1976's "Rocky." Stallone famously raised about $1 million to make that low-budget film based on a screenplay he wrote and would not sell to Hollywood's studios unless he was the star. Now many years later, another chapter of this popular series will unfold. Are you going to see it?

The Golden Globe nominations are out and "Babel"  has seven nominations including best drama picture. To me that would be an indication the movies weren't so good this year. "Babel" is the movie with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett (who did a great job of getting shot in the neck), but lukewarm is an apt description for my view of that movie. "The Departed" is also nominated. That movie, though a bit bloody, rocked. Hard to get enough of top-rate stars...
