A week ago, movie critic Richard Roeper ripped the movie "Evan Almighty," giving it only one star. The movie starring Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman, is about a modern politician who is directed by God (Morgan Freeman) to build an ark. Roeper's review was so critical that we almost didn't go watch the movie. But we did and it was delightful. The audience, by its laughter and applause,  enjoyed it too. Throughout the movie, I kept trying to figure out what Roeper...

I can't say that I know a ton about wrestling but I have a ex-boyfriend that loved wrestling and even wrestled himself. The WWE is very much like a soap opera with some wrestling in between so I would watch it with him. Even before I met him, I would watch if The Rock was on because he is so entertaining. So, if you watch WWE or watched WCW or even some ECW, you know who Chris Benoit is. Today, he was found dead, along with his wife and young child in his home. They are currently...

The American Film Institute's 2007 list  of the top 100 American movies came out with Citizen Kane still on the top of the list as it was in 1998. You gotta be somewhat old to recognize the names of most of the movies. The most current movie on the list is #50 "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," 2001. That wasn't even the best movie in that series — the 2003 movie "The Return of the King" was in my view one of the best movies of all...

If you don't watch the show, don't bother reading the rest of this. I'm assuming if you're still reading, you know how the series ended Sunday night. At first, I thought my friend hadn't paid his cable bill, it was such an abrupt finish — straight to black in the middle of a song. The four of us watching it sat around mystified, then as it slowly began to sink in, reactions were mixed from pure genius to words not fit to print in this forum. I've read a few blog posts and articles...

Ocean's 13 is a perfect opportunity to rag on reviewers who care about things that are not relevant to entertainment. I love Roger Ebert, one of the great writers in modern society. But he was a bit aghast at the earthquake machine in Ocean's 13. Here is his commentary: I know full well I'm expected to Suspend My Disbelief. Unfortunately, my disbelief is very heavy, and during "Ocean's Thirteen," the suspension cable snapped. I think that was when they decided to...

The only reason it is right for Bob Barker to leave the The Price is Right Show is that he's 83 years old. Otherwise, he should continue to remain a fixture on a show that somehow everyone has loved for his last 35 years on it. I was in my 20s when I first saw him on the show. I don't watch daytime tv so I haven't seen it in a long while, but it's like some other game show hosts, Monty Hall on Let's Make a Deal or Alex Trebek on Jeopardy!, it's hard to imagine anyone else. But...

I read a story recently on underage celebrities which talked about how "Hollywood Celebrity Hot Spots" will serve underage celebrities alcohol because they want to stay "Hot" and be the ultimate hip place to go to. Celebrities under-age or not bring big crowds. Lindsay Lohan isn't even 21 yet and she was leaving Les Deux at 3:30 am when she got her DUI. They said they didn't serve her but officials are looking into it and if they served her after hours...

There is a new show that is on MTV that I was intrigued by this weekend. It is called The X Effect. They invite two exes and their current significant others to a romantic resort for what both couples think will be a weekend of romance, heartbreak and revelations. Once they get there, however, only the exes are invited to stay, while the new partners are sent home. Or so it seems. What the exes don't know is that their new loves will be spying on their every move.   As the...
