Whoopi!
I just read that Whoopi Goldberg is going to replace [she who should not be named] on the View. I never watched it before, but I think I will give it a try now that Whoopi is going to be on it. I have always liked her immensely. But who is going to be on it with her? Anyone interesting? I would love to see a show like that with Whoopi and maybe Jim Carrey or Robin Williams...someone else with a great sense of humor. I know that is outside the realm of possibility, but it would be fun. Anyone but the creature UN-named in the first sentence. Who do you think would make a great talk-show team?

Interesting, Whoppi in the hot seat with a different view than any of the others....that's good.  Yeah, but with Robin Williams, you can't get a word in edge wise.

I dunno, I think Whoopi is one person who could hold her own with him.

Im thinkin uh uh...I recently saw him on a show where he was talking to the actors guild and the interviewer barely got a word in edge wise..he can really go off in all directions. Trying to control Robin in front of an audience is like trying to control mother nature.

I wonder what little Miss Hasselbeck is going to handle an out-spoken, extermely smart, liberal African American woman. Cant wait to see Whoopis comments to her...might just have to tivo it.

Whatever folks who enjoy getting too big for their britches get plopped down onto the show, you can bet Catholic League's president Bill Donohue will keep track of their imbecilic comments to show that Jeff Foxworthy was right in saying that last forms of acceptable prejudice target rednecks and Catholics.

I see Donohue already has spoken on this issue. "Sophomoric rant" ... that says it all:

“THE VIEW’S” CATHOLIC OBSESSION CONTINUES

On ABC’s “The View” today, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and guest co-host Whoopi Goldberg criticized the actions of a Catholic priest in Wisconsin.  Having learned that his organist/choir director was selling sex toys, the pastor advised the woman that the products she peddled were incompatible with Catholic teaching.  When she refused to quit her sales job, the priest removed her from her position.

During the discussion, Behar said, “She is selling [the sex toys] to married couples, which the Catholic Church wants you to procreate.  How do they think we have been doing it all these years?  With sex toys, that’s how.”  Goldberg asserted that the woman now “can’t get a spiritual advisor” because she has “a different way of doing things.”  Walters reinforced Goldberg’s notion by asking, “Why can’t someone who is a hooker at night…on Sunday go to whatever church or temple and try to get spiritual?”  Hasselbeck questioned the merit of “probing into your private life in terms of how well you can do your job or keep your job.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented on the episode today:

“Here we go again.  This is the fifteenth incident since September where ‘The View’ has revealed its overwhelming obsession with all things Catholic. The panelists’ disregard for the truth is bad enough—for instance, there is no report of the woman being denied spiritual advice, or even the sacraments, because of the nature of her job—but what is especially appalling is the co-hosts’ intrusion into the internal matters of the Church.  Clergy of all religions make judgments about the moral propriety of their employees every day, without attracting any attention.  Yet when a Catholic priest does it, the ladies of ‘The View’ launch into a sophomoric rant questioning his right to run his parish as he sees fit.

“It has only been a matter of days since ‘The View’s’ leading bigot, Rosie O’Donnell, left the show.  Yet the assault goes on.  The co-hosts will use any excuse to rip into the Church, even if they have to play fast and loose with the facts to do so.  Thus we see that the true culprit isn’t Rosie, it is co-owner and co-producer Barbara Walters.  She’s the captain of this anti-Catholic ship.”

Pax, you needn't be jealous.  We-all just like our britches a little tighter, that's all.

.

Comments like "getting too big for their britches" *JUSTIFY* such acceptable prejudice.  And I would *NEVER* be prejudiced against rednecks.  Except the ones I'm related to by marriage.

Nevertheless, I'd rather listen to a whoopee cushion going off all day than hear Whoopi. It'd probably sound like a Shakespearean sonnet compared with anything she says.

I'd rather listen to a whoopee cushion going off, with appropriate scent effects, than listen to Bill Donohue.  It would sound like Einsteinian physics by comparison.  The church's intolerable record of oppression and abuse gives it absolutely no standing to criticise others.

the catholic church give up their high ground on moral/ethical issues when it protected pedophile priest and attacked the victims.

how do a group of non-marriaged men know anything about marriage or family.
