99% of vehicles in BFL need to be recalled!
I wonder if the majority of vehicle owners in Bakersfield have received re-call notices for their vehicles? Obviously ~ MANY Turn-Signals are inoperable and in need of repair ! One of my biggest driving pet peeves is the fact that most drivers on the roadways feel the laws ( & even common courtesy-road-rules ) dont apply to them ! Who advised them of such? Were they a chosen group that when they received their drivers license there was a clause ( or sticker like Organ Donation ) that verified they dont have to use turn signals, or stop at STOP signs, or better yet ... BLOW completely thru RED lights? If I were complaining about the height of my neighbors grass blades, i would be crazy...BUT driving on roadways is Certifiably INSANE, and i personally am tired of rude, ignorant, dangerous drivers. It's some of the drivers who need to be recalled. My pet peeve? People who don't know how to use a 4-way stop, and/or don't care. Pet peeve within the pet peeve: those who just keep rolling so there's no way to determine who arrived first and thus who has the right of way. posted by

Tailgaters! I've had three back surgeries, and it scares the heck out of me, just the thought of getting rear ended. Not long ago I was sitting at a red light, watching my rearview mirror and this gal had her face up in her mirror putting on her lipstick. She wasn't stopped. I wasn't so sure she was going to stop. I always allow myself enough room to dodge these idiots. Vehicles are deadly weapons. My guess is that most all car wrecks are avoidable. All it would take is for people to take driving a car seriously. posted by

I tried to have my car recalled in the :cash for gashogs" program but they wouldn't take it. Pet peeves while driving, those dumb drivers that turn right into the second lane cutting you off example is turning east on stockdale from northbound Ashe.... you are supose to turn into the closest lane. The other peeve is tailgating. I have no problem brake checking a tailgater, my volvo can take it can your tin can?? posted by

My pet peeve? People who wait until right at the last minute to mearge over when their lane is closing. If there's road work, there ar signs telling you in PLENTY of time the lane is closing. posted by

I have lived on both coasts and perhaps a dozen or more cities in between- Bakersfield has some of the worst, careless and self-absorbed drivers I have ever encountered. BTW- the picture of the alleged smashed Smart Car is a well-known photo-shop. Smart Cars are reported to be some of the safest cars on the road. Of course it stands to reason that in areas (like Bakerfield) that the bigger the vehicle the safer you may be.
